The large nut holding rotors in place has some sort of metal case around it. There are "fingers" over each edge of the nut. To remove this do you romove metal casing with the nut or do you pry the fingers away from the nut. Thanks

You don't touch that at all.

Take the caliper off....then whack the rotor with a rubber hammer or a hammer hitting a block of wood.

These rotors slide off the hub. You don't touch that nut at all

What if I need to repack wheel bearings?

Wheel bearings are non servicable.

You would need to replace the entire hub.

It's not really routine maintainece. Are you having a problem with your front bearings? If not, don't worry about it. If you have a noise, you need to replace the entire hub.

Thanks, no problem with bearings. I've always repacked bearings on other vehicles every other pad change.

Ford brakes have become the easiest brakes to work on these days. 2 bolts for the caliper and then the rotor slides off

The wheel bearings rarely go bad on SN95.
