Starts and dies

68 GT, 4.6. Starts and will run when you give it gas and rev the engine. Let off gas and it dies. No check engine light. Recently had MAS cleaned. Ran great after that. Any thoughts????? Thanks

IAC (Idle air control valve) Ford is known for them going bad.

Yes, clean the IAC, MAF, and also turn the key to on , but don't start the car. Can you hear the fuel pump?

is it OBD1 or OBD 2

Does it have gas?

I spent all night working on a truck with the same problem. Gas gauge read 1/4 tank. I said F it and put 5 more gallons in. After priming the fuel pump a few times it finally started and kept going.

Wasted 3 hours of my time and ended up being no gas
