Tonite talking to me dad he mentioned a girl has a 2000 explorer that he thinks has a 4.0 in it. She blew the headgasket and possibly something else so she is probably just going to give it to him.

Is there anything that I can salvage off it for my '02 3.8 mustang?
I think they have 8.8's with 3.73's, so I'd like the rear end it that's true.

None of this is set in stone and I'm not even completely sure its a '00 4.0 but he seemed pretty sure.

i dont know if anyone has put a 4.0 overhead cam engine in a 3.8 ohv car....why would you want to do that?

oh and if it does thave the 8.8 rear, go for it!

8.8 won't work at all. It's a leaf spring setup.

Nothing will work at all,

Just fix the HG and drive the thing

Nothing will work huh? That sucks.

Not too hard to do the HG on that rig, I say fix it. All it would take is a good weekend of work, taking your time to do it right.

Hell, I'd buy it off ya....

Let me take it. Please

Any updates?

Haven't heard anything from my dad yet. I'll probably call him this week to see what's up.

Small update.

We got the title now just need to go get it. The thing has a ton of miles on it and some rust happening. My dad is pretty sure the block is cracked. He wants throw a new motor in it and use it while he restores his bronco so it looks like we're keeping it for a while.
