Mach Audio Question!

Hey guys,
I was wondering if it is possible to put aftermarket speakers (say pioneer 6x9s and so on) in place of my Mach Audio speakers. I have a 1996 stang and most of my Mach Audio Speakers are blown, and I am not real pleased with them so I'm not going to get a new set of Mach speakers. I was thinking of getting a good set of Pioneers, but I heard that Mach Audio is different then just any sound system and its a lot more complicated to replace speakers. Can the replacement be done easily, or is this too big of a project to get into?
