wats the biggest lift you can put in a 5.0 before having the valves hit the pistons?

not 100% sure but no more than .500

Even then make sure you clay the pistons first

wow thats retarded!....i guess ill have to go with .478...what can i expect for gains with a cobra intake?

The cam I put in my wife's 331 stroker has .524" lift and no problem. You can get even more than that but you really need to use clay to check for piston clearance.

The 1986 engine is the only one of major concern because the flat top pistons are not notched for valve relief.

unless you have a 5.0 like me where its an f-150 5.0 and was carbed at some time in its life but mine isn't a roller but the pistons are notched
