Posted by: speedytang The problem will be the failure of the block before the rods and crank. I am building over 500rwhp @ 6600 rpm and no problems but hardly ever use all of my power anyways. Use ARP bolts on the rods and if you go with a supercharger use head studs and if not at least use good ARP head bolts to keep the heads on the block. Posted by: 87Stallion Are you using the stock rods and crank? and what will go wrong with the block? Posted by: speedytang Using a totally stock 150k+ miles shortblock. The block will split in half. I have seen cars only making 300 whp do it also and have cleaned my engine dyno area up a few times from people wanting to push to hard. Common problem but then the block was made to support under 245hp at the flywheel.
