Supercharging an '06

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I just bought an '06 GT and am having a great time with it. It's pretty fast, but I want to make it heart stopping. I'm considering a supercharger, I've read of tremendous gains with them. I've been away from hot rodding a while, and supercharging meant a lot of internal mods back then. Are today's kits bolt on?

I want my car to be stealth like so everything must fit under the hood. Is this possible? Oh, before someone mentions the bottle, I'm NOT interested in this approach. I'd like to hear from guys who have successfully supercharged their cars and what brands you'd recommend. Thanks!!

Powerdyne has a nice quiet BD unit for your car.If you want I'll call our sales rep and get you a price on one.

Suoerchargers are a great route to go.It's there when you need it,you never run out, with the Powerdyne you do not need to tap the oil pain either.

ROUSH and SALEEN both offer great roots blower applications that spin up quickly and provide tons of torque.

I'm looking in particular at two systems for my 05. Roush - first attraction is they offer a warranty to the drivetrain 3yr/36k but limit the HP gains to 115. You can change a pulley to get more boost/HP but then void warranty. Saleen is a nice kit but more expensive and no warranty. A couple pulley options available to change boost. Roush has a polished unit (what I would like) vs Saleen has one coming. Both come complete as kits, fit nicely under the hood and offer great low end torque vs centrifical superchargers(Vortech, Procharger, etc). I'm hoping to be making my decision in the coming weeks.

Then there are a couple turbo options!

get the Kenne Bell kit.

I like their offering but I've heard some reliability issues with the KB and they are noisy.

Also the 05-07 is not on their current price list.

go to modularpowerhouse.com. you get the Kenne Bell 2.4 for 05-06 Mustang GT's.

This new kit includes the Kenne Bell 2.4 blowzilla, install, shipping and custom tune on MPH's dyno for $7,500

The Saleen and Roush are selling complete for just over 5k, polished a few hundred more. No shipping. I've seen both get installed by the shop I'm working over the last couple weeks (each took 2 days) who has a dyno. Both produced excellent HP/T over the stock numbers (upper 300's with Roush, low 400's with Saleen). I still can't make up my mind!

We just had a brand new 06 Mustang supercharged at work. They used a Procharger with 10lbs of boost. Final dyno number for HP was 482rwhp. He didn't say what the torque was.
