i have a stock 3.8 and i was wondering if it would hurt to put in a 75 shot of nitrous for the occasional friday night pass at the 8th? just looking to get some more power outta my car but not killing it at the same time. thanks

The bottom end can handle it, but you will need to have the ECM tuned for it otherwise you could have some trouble.

how do i get that done? thanks

i ran a 75 wet shot for a long time and had no issues. if you stick to 75 wet shot you dont need tuning

Ah, I stand corrected

Looks like I may be investing in Nitros hehehe

sweet thanks for the help. what is the biggest shot i can use without causing any trouble?

Considering that a 3.8 has headgasket issues without a power adder I would make sure you have the skills to change them. It is a easy job if your mechanically able but if not..........$$$$$$$$. Tune is still a issue. Back out the timing when the solenoids get power or you will be busy and turning the timing back all the time just kills performance when not using the nitrous.

as long as you use 91 or 93 octane you shouldnt have to worry about backing off the timing.....i wouldnt run anything over a 75 shot. if you do change the head gaskets, the 99-04 headgaskets are pretty hefty. i didnt see you had an 98. course there is argument on which car is better to run nitrous on. the 98 is suppose to have more even distroubution of a wet shot on nitrous....

couse if you do a 75 shot you would only be up to like 190-200 rwhp. when i was running nitrous with all my other modifications i was hitting like 275 hp...on a stock bottom end...

how many miles are on the eninge?

Posted by: 98/3.8

about 100,000

Where did you get your kit?

How long to install?

Any problems that you ran into during installation?

Sorry for all of the questions, I am looking at doing the same thing on my 2000 Coupe.
