new here and new to mustang

my name is Joe and im from dracut ma. i just bought a 90 lx conversion car. was a 4cyl now a 5.0 5 speed....the car is high idling. what can i do about that. what is a cause of that? vacuum lines? there are vacuum lines that were blocked off near the manifold where do they go? any help is greatly appreciated...oh the thing scrubs out.

Unplug the IAC and see if you can adjust idle down using the idle set screw under the TB. Back the screw out.

After any adjustment to that screw, you must reset the computer by unplugging it for 15 mins. Reconnect it and set the TPS to approx 0.96 volts at idle

Restart car and let it idle for 2 mins, shut off, restart and turn all all your accessories and let it run for 2 more mins. Shut everything off, let idle for 2 more mins. The car should relearn idle strategy over the next 25-50 starts.

If it's till high after that, check for a vacuum leak with carb cleaner. Buy a can and spray in short bursts around the engine. Any vac leak will cause a jump in engine speed.

thanks a bunch, i will try, i dont think its a vacuum leak cause it goes up, then settles down to like 1100 then to 1500 then to 3000, sometimes 4600, so i donno
