Longtime lurker, now a member

Hey all. I've been a longtime lurker on this board and it's about time that I registered and joined up. I live in Wareham, Ma and own a 1979 Mustang Cobra. It's one of approximately 7,000 and I'm assuming there's not too many left, as I haven't seen another one in person (although I've seen pic's of others online.)

It started out with a Turbo 4 cylinder but my brother and I swapped in a pretty stout naturally aspirated 306 that makes 307 horsepower at the wheels. I've also got a Tremec 3550 in it and an 8.8 rear with 4.30 gears, Detroit Locker unit and 31 spline axles.

It 60's in the 1.6-1.8 range and runs the quarter mile at Epping in the 12.40-12.80 range at 107-110 mph. I'll be heading up to the Fun Ford Event next month and will be racing from Friday night through Sunday afternoon. I drive it the 2.5 hours each way and then race it so it's got to stay in one piece!

I've been lucky enough to have it featured in the August 2005 issue of MM&FF and I have two more magazines that want to do a feature on it. I hope they come to fruition!

Here's a couple of pic's
