I am just about to start a restore on a 73 mach 1 and also a 2 mach 1. These will be my first restores that I have ever done. Though I have always tinkered. Hers my questions 1. What is the difference between a quarter "skin" and a full quarter panel? 2. Is there anyone who makes a door shell for these years? 3. The trunk of the 72 is almost completely gone. So ba in fact that the rear leaf spring is partially inthe trunk. Can I just weld in new sheet metal and make a new bracket or should i just take the 72 and sell it for scrap? Posted by: elminslimer14 You can also go to www.nationalpartsdepot.com. We have done several restorations on mustangs with parts from these guys. The prices are pretty good. Free shipping on orders over $300. Haha. You can buy a floorpan for the trunk on the 72. And how did the leaf spring get in the trunk. Did it fall off the framerail or is the framerail gone. You can always buy or make a new bracket. As for the quarter panel question, a quarter skin is just the exterior panel, but a quarter panel has the inner braces and all of that stuff. (a quarter skin is kinda hard to put on depending on how experienced you are) And I would still keep the car. Don't trash it. It'll just make everyone else's car more valuable. lol Ford Mustang Archive Home | General Tech | 5.0 Mustang Tech | 4.6 Mustang Tech | 3.8 Mustang Tech | 2.3 Mustang Tech | Classic Mustang Tech | Appearance and Sound | Virtual Body Shop | Initiation | The Lounge | The Showroom | Site Suggestions | Mustang Talk | 2005 Ford Mustang | Ford Lightning | Racers Bench | For Sale | Wanted To Buy | Northeast | SouthEast | Central | MidWest | West Coast | NEBOC
