I hate to admit it....but

For those of you that have been following my trials and tribulations, it may soon be coming to an end.

The bottom line for me is I bought this car to fulfill a specific function. The car has to perform well in an open track, GT prepared class - and it has to be a reasonably good daily driver.

Call it a return to the days of my youth (before marriage, mortgage and kids) when I raced other daily drivers in gentlemanly competition (we tried not to swap paint but in the heat of competition, it happened sometimes nevertheless).

Regardless of the time, effort and large sums of $$$$ I've thrown at this project, it seems every time I overcome one problem, a rash of other problems present themselves, that require even more time, effort and $$$.

I'm getting more than a little tired of being the beta test site for the new Mustang. All I really wanted to do was race again, but I'm missing races and spending more time than is reasonable overcoming the (next) set of problems. And there seems to be no end to the "next" set of problems.

So the site may lose me in the near future. If I can't resolve the recent rash of problems in pretty short order, and without thowing even larger sums of $$$ at it - I'm going to give up this project as a bad idea, put the car back to stock, sell the damn thing, buy a Superformance S1 and go racing like I originally intended.

I'm very rapidly approaching "stick a fork in me I'm done!" and let someone else take over getting the bugs worked out of the new Mustang. All I really wanted to do was race and have a good time doing it - with a daily driver. I'm very near the conclusion that this may not be possible with the new Mustang.

I'll keep you posted and say a fond farewell if it comes to that.

what's wrong with your car? why do you feel like the "beta test site"?

there are plenty of forums that have more 05-06 tech. join one of them and ask opinions before you buy parts.

Something ate my posted response to your last post too Redbullet.

I think somebody doesn't want this subject aired.

Which is a little bit too much big brother for me, if that's what is going on.

Ditto Donna's post. You've provided sound and useful advice.
But, you've gotta do what you've gotta do.
Good luck...and have some fun! You deserve it!
