A stroker engine is basically a stock engine that has been modified (bored out, crankshaft changed, longer connecting rods) to give it more displacement.

Ex: take a 3.8 block. bore it out, add different connecting rods and the crank from a 4.2 (found in the F150) and you can achieve a displacement of 4.3+

Why would you do this? Larger displacement allows for more air/fuel thereby allowing more hp/torque.

Hope this helps

Jay
