I need a little advice. I took delivery 2006 premium coup on WED 14 June 1130 and by THU 15 June 0330 I am returning car to dealer because the low brake fluid light is on and the reservoir is full. Dealer kept the car over night and tried to make me to pay for rental. I was told the car was ready for pick, I get in car and not only is the low brake fluid light still on but e-brake light is not going off. So now the dealer got to keep the car over the weekend and again the they tried to get me to pay for rental. What rights do I have as a buyer and am I buying a lemon? Posted by: OldFart Quote:
Upon delivery, my seat belt light kept going on for no good reason and it took two trips to the service department to get it fixed. Once to find out what was wrong and again to install the parts after they arrived. I've had similar issues with past GM and Chrysler products also. But how the dealership handles the problem can vary widely from dealer to dealer. I've always been offered a free rental anytime the dealer has to keep a nearly new car over night. And I've rarely turned a car in for a problem and got it back "fixed" only to have the same problem. Although it's too late to buy from another dealer, it's not too late to take it to another dealership for service. I recommend you do so. As to your lemon laws, it depends on the state you're in. Do a google or yahoo search for your own state lemon laws and read up. Good luck, OldFart Posted by: Mustang5L5 Lemon laws vary by state, but typically if i car is repaired 3 times for a MAJOR defect then it is a lemon. However fixing it twice for a minor light coming on won't qualify it for a lemon law. Laws vary by state so you may want to check on that yourself though. BTW...aren't the e-brake and brake light the same light? Red light that says BRAKE?? Posted by: L_LOGIC Thanks Oldfart I've read a couple of your posts and your very insightful. 5L5 The e-brake light is red under RPM gage. While the low brake fluid is in info center under speedometer. I got the car back yesterday and so far all is will except for some gearbox/clutch noise(clunk) when shifting into 2nd. I am pushing the clutch all the and slowing coming off it. Good or bad? Posted by: Donna Heres a up to date list of all the TSB's on the 06. I've already had to have the low speed axle whine done to mine. http://www.2005stang.com/viewtopic.php?t=2325 I think mine clunks a little going into second. Nothing major. I'm told its a normal noise. Posted by: Mustang5L5 Quote:
Unfortunately it's a characteristic of the 3650. They tend to shift notchy/clunky into 2nd gear and sometimes 3rd gear. The problem has been with the trans since it was new back in 2001. They's sorta made it better but it still clunks. There is a TSB on the 01-04 cars but the 05+'s have the replacement parts in them already.
