On their site they say that it is required for 130A upgrades but I haven't seen people using it in other how tos. Can anyone give advice on whether or not I should get this. They want $60 for it here http://www.pa-performance.com/displa...@1,nextN um@2 and I just dropped $150 on the alternator so I'd rather not have to buy it if I don't have to. Posted by: Mustang5L5 Yes you NEED it. The stock 10G wiring cannot handle 150 amps. I bought 4ga battery cable from AZ for $10 or so and ran it like that with a couple crimps. My 3G conversion is a junkyard '95 alt, so unsure what comes on the PA alt, but all you do is run the 4GA wire from the power post on the alt to the pos side of the solenoid. Also, you will notice to black/orange stripe #10 wires that went to the old alt. They are in a 3-wire harness with a small white wire that should now be connected to the new alt. Disconnect and tape up the two #10 wires from the alt only, do not disconnect them from the starter solenoid as the votage regulator gets power from that end. Posted by: taco Thanks for the post. I'm getting a power wire soon. Posted by: MCRPARTS Quote:
I did the Pa upgrade to oue show car and yes you need the 4G wire. It's a breeze to install. We sell them in our store. Did you get the small case 130 amp? I did, it fit perfect didn't need to drill anything
