35th anniversary editions

i have a quick question, my buddy has a 99 gt, 35th anniv, and he claims it has 30 more hp than other GT's, due to diff cams and other "unexplained" things, i told him he may be rigth but ive never heard of it, any one else heard of a 35th with different cams?

I've never heard anything of the sort.
1999 was the first year to get the "PI" heads ("Performance Improved") and brought the GT hp up to 260. All GT's from then till 2004 had the same heads. As far as I know, there's nothing unique about the performance of the 35th Anniv edition except it was the first year to get the added power.
The only 99-04 "special" Mustangs with added power that I'm aware of are the Bullitt, the Mach 1 and the Cobra.

Different wheels, hood scoop, sides scoops, different spoiler, different interior trim, polished wheels, blacked out trunk lid....same 260HP GT engine

What is the difference between the PI heads and regular ones? Why do they add more power?

Ports are slightly different, not by much however.

The biggest reason for the jump in power is the camshafts. They are much more aggressive

Yeah .. only add'l hp is over the 96-98 SOHC variants.
