They are different generations of body structure. If you are handy like Jesse James or the guys you see working with Chip Foose or Boyd Coddington I am sure there is a way to get it on there and make it work. Most things are just a matter of money, time, and skill. I don't know of any kits available at the moment for the swap you want to do but people are putting the 4.6L into everything nowadays. Steve Posted by: 81maroonhatch you don't want a 4.6 in a 72 stang 351W or 351C thats all you need or a 347 Posted by: newfoal have a chance to get a 400 ford motor out of a f-250 mid 70s i think how would this bolt into the 72 and what kind of trans would work for it (wife wants a stick) and would i be able to use the 5.0 efi system on it (dont know if its a big block or small block) thanks george Posted by: Aussie XAXB 5.0 EFI system too small. You should be able to get the 400 in there no problem. Is it a 400M? For that era the good ol' toploader would be fun. It's a 4 speed. If you are adventurous you can get a tremec TKO tranny to put in. It will be a 5 speed but also a little bit of extra effort to get it in. Steve Posted by: Qcodegt stay away from the 400m perf parts are tuff, you would be better off getting a 351 w or c or a 429 or 460 motor iwould go with a 460 there is plenty of them around and you can get a lot of pwr for cheap money,if you are interested in a 429 cj a friend of mine has a complete 1 for sale that just need the crank done Posted by: badass98svt If it were up to me, I'd go with a 351, bore it out if you want, but there are A LOT of parts available for the 302/351. As far as the front nose fitting from a 68/69 goes, as Aussie said, it's not a "bolt-on" deal.
