Typhoon Intake the real deal

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

We just had a blower added to our 92 LX show car.In the process of adding about 8-10PSI the 14yr old intake gasket blew. I drove the car with the stock intake and blower and it felt pretty good.

While swappin in a new felpro 1250 gasket it only made sense to do an intake swap at the same time. I have read on the internet that the Typhoon intake made by Professional Products while inexpensive, was of poor quality. After talking to two friends that actually have the product, they talked us into trying it out.

Once we recieved the new intake into the office,I closely inspected it for burrs alond the ports, and holes in the runners.I was happy to see that all ports had been deburred at the factory, and the runners were flawless and smooth.

The product is of good quality and would recommend it to anyone. Our 5.0 also pulles way harder than it did with the stock intake.

Muscle-Mustangs.com will have this product available in our on-line store.

Interesting post. Do you happen to have pictures of the ports and plenum area?

Thanks,
Steve

That's awesome! It that similar to their 4.6 intake that was reviewed last month in one of the Mustang magazines? (5.0 Mustang or MM&FF, I forget.) They said it added 25rwhp.
Sweet! I'm so very tempted.

I'm glad it you got a good one! My TB from I bought last year from them didn't fit at all. The 4 holes used to mount it on the studs of the intake were way off. I had to drill them out to make it fit.

Wounder if they stepped up the QC over there. I didn't have time to take a picture as I had it overnighted to us and ran it out to the shop doing the install.

Had to get the car done for a club meet on Sat. It really looked goo though. You could tell it had been deburred and cleaned up.

I have a 92 fox body,I'm a real picky person,but thought it looked like a quality piece.

For the price you can't beat it.

Now wait til you take the Professional Products off, and put on a Holley Systemax...

i put one of these on a friends car about a year ago; performance wise the typhoon really gave his car a kick in the pants. however, i would urge everybody to closely inspect their manifolds prior to install. the one my buddy purchased was not tapped properly for the water tube. we had to re-tap it and it worked fine. other than that he is happy with it so that is really all that matters...right??

Well we spoke to soon, after driving the car a few weeks it develped a thermostat gasket leak, that I tried for 4 days to stop. The end of the Typhoon isn't square so it's at the shop getting fixed and probably re sealed with a gasket maker.

It caused us to miss the biggest show of the summer.
