Anyone here install a Pro 5.o shifter in their 05-06?I wanted to put a MGW shifter in, but I called them yesterday and they won't be ready till fall. So I ordered a Pro 5.0 Any tips, hints on install would be greatly appreciated, from those that have done the install.

Actually The install isn't that difficult. The hardest part was removing the drive shaft from the Tranny. Be sure to check for factory shims ( May or may not be any). The support rod that mounts to the side of the tranny will be a lil tough but it does come out in that tight spot. Follow the set up tips with your kit about the Stop bolts to the letter to prevent damage to any parts internal. I have installed the Steeda Tri-Axe Shifter in mine and believe will be very similar and if not, just tryin to give a lil insite.

Why would you remove the drive shaft? After removing the shift knob, boot and the insulator below that, I removed and installed from underneath without removing driveshaft or dropping tranny. But, to each his own.

The trans has internal stops and has had them for a long time. This has confirmed by a Tremec engineer.

And you can do a search for "tremec internal stops" and it will confirm this.

I Did remove the front drive shaft mount because it is the only way to get the shifter mounting bolts out. I was just stating what Steeda recommended with my swap, I have done this install and you would have to see for yourself on the Tremec 3650 Just how the shifter is mounted. Mounted from underneath not from the top like some others.

Thanks for the info on internal stops , Just curious why Steeda was so adamant about the precision of the Stop Bolt settings?

If you read what I said, I did do it. I used a 1/4" swivel socket.

Did the install on the shifter. Wow! What a difference! Did not have to drop the front driveshaft. Took out the old and put in the new from the top!Easy tip is to install the long billet bar last, from the bottom. Shifts are WAY better!

The stops are internal gear stops, but you can still bend a shift linkage if you overshift.

I set the stops on my shifter on my 3650 very loosely, but in the event i overshift they would act as a backup.

Up to you, but this is how i feel.
