Confused with the cast numbers and the date code. Date code reads 4F3 (1964, April 3?). The head casting number is C5AE. In the rocker area on the left side it says 289. On the right side it says '65'. Why the difference in the numbers? Only thing I could find close to the casting number is C5AE-E which is for the Hi-Po head. Dave Posted by: Mustang5L5 Casting number indicated a '65 engineering part number. Appears my interchange book is incomeplete (or wrong for the '65' castings). That casting date is June 3, not April 3 as said earlier. Dave Posted by: Aussie XAXB You're welcome. I had a link for another great page but that server is not found.
