back-up lights inop!

Can anyone tell me what to do about my back-up lights or reverse lights don't work. I have changed out the bulbs, and fuses, still no back-up lights.
Could it be a relay switch or something. And does anyone know where the back-up lights switch is located in my 1999 mustang. I would really appeciate any advice. Thank You

Automatic or 5-spd?

The switch is actually located on the trans, I know that on the 5-spd models it's on the driver's side of the trans case. It's a black round thing with 2 prongs sticking out
