Buddy at work passed this along to me, he's waiting to get his new Mustang. Seem like Hertz is again, after 40 years, going to offer a hotter than stock Mustang for rent.

Rent one, take it home, swap engines with your stock 05-06GT and return it!

HAHAH exactly just like they used to do.

Hahaa thats an awesome idea, wonder how long it'd take them to notice.

Unsure if it's worth it for 25HP

Which brings to mind:

Do you know the difference between a rental car and a 4x4?

A 4x4 will go off-road - a rental car will go anywhere.

We had a guy bring a rental mustang to the races a couple of weeks ago. He loved it. Drove it like he stole it and then took it back. Even with the entry fee, he had a full day of racing for less than $125.00. Not a bad deal.

For those of you interested, here's a little more info on the program.

By the way, that's only another 50 hp at the flywheel. Better than stock but many of us have already exceeded that with bolt-on mod's and tuning.

I might be a lil upset if someone could rent one with more mods than most of us have paid dearly for.

I believe it is 25 more at the flywheel, which is about right. CAI and mild tune will account for most of that. Even with the x pipe mod and new exhaust mufflers (which I have read only adds 8 to 10 more.) I imagine that the tune is really really mild. Probably just enough to account for the increased air flow and a 87 octane fuel. I am really pleased that Hertz did it again. Good Job
