My thing is that some dude told me he will swap my engine for a SVT Cobra and with all parts and labor included will come up to $5000.00 or I just should I just use all that money and buy Performance parts? Well thanks for the help!! Isaias4u2nv! Posted by: Rick Sample That's a tough delima. Personally, If I were in your situation, I'd take the $5,000 and spend $3,000 on appearance modifications and $2,000 on performance modifications. Posted by: Mustang5L5 Quote:
He'll need to swap the engine, trans, rear end and k-member. He'll also need to swap the hydroboost MC and booster setup over and plumb it to the PS since the vacuum booster won't fit with the DOHC. Then he needs to integrate the 4.6L wiring harness into the V6 body harness which isn't that easy. They you need to plumb the cooling system, a/c system, transmission wiring and swap the gauge cluster. You really need an entire parts car for this, and it's still gonna take about a month to do it. Posted by: kissajew86 yeah i agree i dont think he can get everything you need for a cobra in there for 5 grand...unless he skimps on the rear end, suspension and such...but then you will have stuff breaking. Get a list of stuff he says he will replace and the cost and post it up here if he can really do it is may be a decent deal, the only issue is it will be hard to resale the vehical with such drastic changes Posted by: Mustang5L5 It's definitely not an easy swap. I'm in the midst of researching a Cobra driveline-into-Fox swap and you really need a parts car for it due to the amount of parts you'll need plus the labor involved. The harnesses are not plug and play...you will need to splice. Like i said, $5K for the swap including all the parts is cheap. But then again maybe he has a parts car he bought for $500 or something? now what performance parts should i gett? 1- I know for a fact I want Side Exhaust! 2- 3- 4- 5- Thanks everybody really apreciate your thoughts!! Posted by: Rick Sample Performance wise for $2,000 I would get: 1. Dual Flowmaster Exhaust 2. X-Pipe 3. BBK Cold Air Intake 4. Ceramac Coated Headers 5. BBK Throttle Body Things I would start off apearance wise would be a new hood, new front bumper, new spoiler, and perhaps some window tint. That'll make for an agressive looking Mustang Posted by: Xerxeese Have you any pics of your car to post ? Seeing your car might help with suggestions on appearance mods.
