Good suggestions for cleaning brakes?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

My brakes are as orange as they come! Anything laying around the house that would take the rust off by just spraying? I can't take the wheels off simply because our jack won't fit under the car since it sits only 3" from the ground.

Plan on replacing them next year, however, I need to make them somewhat 'presentable' this year.

WHat exactly is rusted? The rotors?

Anything strong enough i would suggest pulling the wheels anyway.

Yep, the rotors are completely orange. I definetly need to pull the wheels off to actually clean behind them, too. I'm in a bind trying to lift the car off the ground without making bumper impact.

Put boards in front of the tires and drive up enough so you can get a jack under there.

Never crossed my mind, great suggestion! May have to give that a try!

I have to use a smaller jack to start mine then put the bigger one under it. The jack that comes with the car works good

To tell you guys the truth, I may not have to take the rims off. After we took it for a drive today, the brakes look normal instead of orange. All I'll have to do is take my new meguiars wheel spoke brush to get in the wheel more and I should be alright!

Happens to all cars after they sit. No big deal.

I guess I will go ahead and pull them off this weekend, I have to make this car spotless for the upcomming show season. I don't want it to look like I did a half ass job or anything lol.

Mine get a tint to them at the car wash and driving solves that issue here
