I think you'll find that any of the major brands, SCT, Diablosport, Sniper, etc. will accomodate your desire for a more aggressive shift.

Just be aware that this will void your warranty and it is likely not doing your stock transmission any great good.

You dance the dance - you pay the piper. Those hard shifts are fun, but be prepared to have the transmission rebuilt at your own expense much sooner than if you had left it alone.

On the up side, it can be rebuilt much stronger and faster than the stock unit.

if you wanna chirp your auto into second, get some 4.10/4.30s out back.

or get a shift kit.

I'm using SCT XCAL2, and get a nice little chirp in 2nd at WOT (with a good tune).

My Xcal2 with Bamachips tune will scratch a 3rd on some types of pavement at 60 mph w/ stock gearing.

The 05/06 auto is controlled by the PCM, no valve body. shift kit.

The 1971 C4 in my wife's 66 Mustang will chirp the tires in the 1-2 shift when doing some accelerating, leave tracks under hard accelerating, and I haven't even tried full thottle yet. No computer and only 3.25:1 gear.

The tranny was rebuilt a couple years ago. No shift kit was put into it. I am going to ask if he put an extra friction disc in there or not, a common trick for fast shifts.

Oldfart, do they make a shift kit for the tranny in the new Mustangs or is the computer the only available way to change it? Is the newer tranny able to hold up to an old style shift kit?

Aussie,

Since I've got a stick it's not an area that I've done much research, so I'm not the best person to ask about this.

Maybe some of the other auto owners can help out here.
