To get back to our main site, please follow this link: Ford Mustangneed rear info asap!(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)Posted by: siXXXd7coupe i have an 8 inch ford rear out of a 67 fastback v8 car. i want to put an auburn posi unit with new axels, new gears and all new hardware etc. im going to drive this car on the street and it will be driven to the track and raced occasionally. i need to know what a good strong set up will be to get me where im going. the car will have around 500hp with a shot, through a 289 and a world class T5 5-speed trans. what will hold up. i wan to run somewhere in the mid to low 12's. i duno anything about hp to weight and 1/4 mile calculations, so im just sying where id like to be with what i have. im sure someone can point me in the right direction. i have the money right now to buy what i need and have it built. the car is ready to have the rear slid under it as im typing this. i gota get it done soon b/c its going to my school to be sealed, jamed, and what not in a month of so. help me out! thanks in advance .
