After much speculation, I was thinking about giving this another go. We had it about a year ago. However, it became a hassle trying to manually update the cars each month. With our new articles system, adding a new featured car would be just as easy as submiting a new thread. It would feature the same layout and look of our new articles system.

Another nice feature that I think could help encourage posting and more activity in the forums is having a little trophy type picture with the words "Featured Ride Of The Month Winner" or something displayed below that particular users avatar and it would stay their for the life of their account.

Suggestions?

Thanks guys, I'll see what I can do to bring it back. I'm not sure if we will have one for March or not. If we don't have one for March we will have one for April

I think it would be best just for us to choose which one meat the qualifications. I don't think it matters to how much $$$ you have spent on the car. What we would look for would be how many modifications in general you have (Even free modifications such as an air silencer removal). Just a car that looks good and has a great deal of modifications. (Modifications don't even have to cost thousands, just enough so we could do a nice wright up)

I think there should be some type of system where the admins nominate like five per month, and all the members determine who wins out of those.

i dont think you should HAVE to have alot of mods some people have some pretty clean stock cars...such as myself

Last year that was a real failure. We had something similar last year (Can't remember what we had exactly). I think we tried it where just the moderators voted (Failed because more than half of the moderators really didn't care for it) and we had a system where so many were nomitnated then we placed a poll in the forums. (This failled because nearly all the users voted for themselves or the ones that were nominated weren't only voting for themselves, but they were creating multiple accounts voting for themselves)

last year we just had everyone posting pics of their cars.
like said above, we should just have moderators select 5 stangs each month, and then everyone can vote just once. for 1 of the 5 stangs.

now lets get this shiz-nit on the road.

Maybe we could work something like an electoral vote. The votes in the forums would count, but moderators would take a huge toll on the votes.

We could probably work out a poll vote type thing again on 5 Mustangs to see which one gets the most vote. I'll have to enable the "Who voted on this poll" module so that the guys that get nominated won't vote for themselves and so we can make sure that they don't register more than once to get votes

sounds good to me.
except, why can't the owner vote for his own car? i mean, it's just 1 vote. it's not like he/she can vote multiple times.

I guess it couldn't hurt. The ones nominated could even post in other forums to come into this forum to vote for them. I guess it could turn out to be a win-win situation lol. I will monitor to make sure the votes aren't comming from the same IP just to try and keep it as fair as possible.

You have plenty of time

I think the garage setup would be best so I can browes through, pick the nominees, then post a poll so our users can vote. It would be easier than having everyone submit via a thread like we had last year. Plus it will take up alot less space

I'll get the trophy icon to work a little later on down the road. I'm having some difficulties with it, but it will be up soon. The next nominies will come later tonight or tomarro. I figured instead of giving 2 weeks to vote, I'll just give a week

I'm gonna add about 10 more photos of his car here this weekend along with a new thumbnail photo. I still have a lot of fine tweaking to do with the featured rides section. It's just a few growing pains I guess.

Yes, I plan on putting it on the homepage. However, it'll be at least a good solid month or two before I can get it on their as I am still arranging alot of the links on our left navigation system and I'm getting us a new event photos section up.
