I have seen this on other sites anyone here know the details? I have a 1995 mustang with a blown 3.8 would like to upgrade the power!

there are stroker kits, with the bigger crankshaft and whatnot... the kit alone is like $1,700 I think. then to install... I think it would be cheaper to just get a complete v8. I can't link you to the sites right now, because I work nights, but I'll get you the link tomarrow if noone else does beforehand.

Thanks, I would really like to stay with a v6, suspension and exhaust. the 3.8 that is in now has a cracked block so if I am going to spend $$ on a new engine I though I would up size!

http://www.need-4-speed.com/V6%20Per...e%20Corner.htm

there the stroker kit is $1,799
the short block is further down $3,499

that's one site and there are I think 2 others that I know of, definately at least 1 other with a few differant choices up to 4.6 v6 I think (3.8, 3.9, ,4.0, 4.1.....etc.)

im going to sleep right now since I just got off work alittle while ago, but ill post the other links later this afternoon.

screw sleep, I wont make you wait, this site has up to a 4.4L stroker. I forgot I had that in my favorites.

There is another site that I think goes up to 4.6L stroker, but I cant find it right now. That I will post later today if I can find it.

I was looking to but a reman long block, I just thought I would but a 4.2 instead. I am just trying to make sure it will fit a what year engine to buy, I have a 1994

unless you are doing a power adder you dont need a stroker kit. just go to a junkyard and pull a 4.2 engine. You will have to use the heads/intake from your current engine, but it should bolt up to everything else.....

oh and i forget which oil pan to use......perhaps someone can pipe in on that one....

and the 4.2 is neutral balanced so you have to use the 4.2 harmonic balancer and flywheel if you have a 5 speed

I saw someplace if I bought an 01+ 4.2 I could use the 01+ 4.2 heads with the 94 3.8 mustang intake

Posted by: kissajew86

the 97+ 4.2 has a split port head/intake setup if my memory serves me correctly....so no you cant use it

if you want to do the split port swap at the same time you will gain hp but it gets much more complicated. the 4.2 has a returnless fuel setup. the 94 has a return system. useually the solution is a custom fuel rail to fit the 4.2 setup that has a return line running back to the tank.

and of course then custom tunning would be mandatory

there are some issues with the upper radiator hose lining up, but that is a minor issue.....

again this is all from memory, but it is good info to get you in the right direction.

4.4 is the biggest, except I hope to build a 4.6 this year
My machinist has approved the blueprint, says it will work
and the parts list is a go! (forged rods and pistons)
