New header logo

Not sure I'm feeling the new header logo. The design is good, just doesn't sem to flow with the header all that well. Maybe I'm just used to seeing the other one. Anyone else feel the same way?

Really? Is it the actual logo itself or the position of the text? We were trying to go with a logo that everyone recognized like Summit Racing, Jegs Performance, Google, Yahoo, etc.

Maybe a little of both. The logo itself looks a little blurry to me around the "M". Just not very smooth looking. It might also look better and more lined up if the contact information was on the right?

Like I said, it may just be me. I just woke up and checked the site and something about it just struck me as odd. Then again, I am a little irritable when I wake up lol. The more I look at it the more I like the logo itself (other than the problem with the M). Maybe it just takes some getting used to.

I think your right, take a look now. Does the logo look a little smoother around the M and all the other letters? It's also a little whiter. When we shrunk it down it got a little blury so we just had to do a little touchin up!

The logo looks good, but I agree with switching the contact info to the right. I think it would look a bit smoother, plus, it would put the logo in the center. I could be wrong, but what I'm picturing doesn't look too bad.

But that would make it look backwords lol It wouldn't put the logo in direct center, it would put it more off to the right.

Very true. I still like them switched a little better, but they both look fine.

The logo looks MUCH better now. I'm not sure how I like the contact info. Looks strange either way.

What if you center the contact info on the entire header??

The center of the header is just a background image that slides to allow people to view the site at different screen resolutions. It's not a fixed image so to say

Oh...hmmm. I don't know what else to suggest lol

ah come on... Put your photoshop skills to work

Posted by: ExBamaGal

lol...I'd love to but I'm at work and can't put the program on these computers

I LIKE the logo!
But not look of the contact info. How about moving the contact info into the black menu/divider bar with the HOME | FORUMS | REGISTER links. Have it left justified and all in one line.

Also, the Times font is not very clear and clashes a bit with the rest of the site since everything else on the site (except for the stylized logo) is in Arial or similar block/sans serif font. (btw: I view at 1024x768 and 1600x1200 depending whether I'm at work or home.)

Another option is to remove the contact info altogether and put a "contact us" link in the menu bar. One thing I've found in doing a few small wesbites, is if a customer wants to contact you, they WILL click on a "contact us" link. They don't always need to see contact info on every page as long as theres a sales or contact link that's easy to find.

Just my $0.02.

Two VERY good suggestions langod

I speachless, dunno what to do lol All I know is that having our numbers and contact info in the header is a must. We really can't put the info in the black bar with HOME | FORUMS | REGISTER because those few lines of text aligned left will almost meet up with HOME | FORUMS | REGISTER and it may cause some real confusion having a bunch of words spanning our sites header!

While you guys & gals are thinking, I'm gonna start on our new garage system here in a few minutes

Just toying with some ideas. Don't know what's doable and what's not as far as building a website goes but here are a couple of variations to get a visual on what it could look like. Of course, they're not perfect and I just went with the first font that came to my head so I know that's not right...bear with me lol.

I like the 2nd one the best. (M-Mlogo1)

Rick -- how about an animated gif that changes from a big logo, to a smaller logo with contact info? I think we both know that animations can be really cheesy, but I think if you made the animation slow enough (say switch only every 10 or 15 secs) and kept it a simple fade in/out, you might be able to get away with it. Maybe one that went from a large logo to something like Tiff's 3rd image above. (m-mlogo2)
