How Many Miles do you have

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

whats up..i was thinking today what is the general rule for saying a car has a lot of miles...i know it depends on year and average...but i was just wondering how many miles everyone here has on there ride....I own an 02 and i just hit 46,000...

Posted by: Rick Sample

I own a 1995 Mustang and it has barely over 74,000 miles. However, when I bought the car 5 years ago, it had 72,000 miles. So during the 5 years I have had this Mustang, I have only put 2,XXX and some miles on it.

I think I saw somewhere that the average person puts anywhere from 10-12 thousand miles on their car each year!

My baby hit 100k last month when we went back home for Thanksgiving. It now has a little over 102k Oh yea, and it's a 2000 v6 that I bought in 2001 with 12k on it.

Posted by: ascmclarn

1988 Saleen with 121K. I had a 93 cobra with 62K, i considered that low milage.

Posted by: Humboldt Stang

A little over 3 months with my 06 GT, and I have 7500 miles.
Of course, a 1000 mile round trip to Seattle accounts for a large portion of that.

Posted by: Rick Sample

I also had a 1993 Ford Mustang Coupe with only 52,000 miles! Perfect condition, too! I sold it about 4 years ago. I saw it a few weeks ago and it was nothing but rust!

Posted by: Stang101

I have a 2000 with 32,200.

It was in storage for a long period of time before I got it, thats why the mileage is so low.

Wha??? Why in June bro? I'm pulling mine out in the beginning of April!!

Posted by: 1969Vette

you should at least drive it around the block every once in a while. that driveline and those brakes may be hurting after 7-8 month of sitting

Quite to the contrary. If you put a car up on blocks with the wheels still on, the suspension should be more than fine. Not to mention, starting it in cold weather builds condensation in and around the engine, which then leads to corrosion. Best bet is to put some STA-BIL in, pull the battery, and wait.

We're sitting in snow a foot deap over here with more on the way and my engine is disassembled and getting ready for the rebuild. We can't start on the rebuild until warmer weather settles in (mid April sometime) I'm sure it'll take us at least a month or two to get all the new parts into the engine. (I'm just hoping we make the deadline on the rebuild for our 1st car show the 1st weekend in June up at Summit Racing headquarters)

We don't really have anyway to drive it around the block. We built a garage in our back yard just for the car and around the garage thieir is a foot of snow

We couldn't get the car up on blocks. Our jacks wouldn't fit under the car because it sits so low. We're hoping to find some that will fit this summer. The battery has been pulled though

I have a 66 with 122,000 original miles. The guy I bought it from found it in a barn with a non-working 351W in it, but the original 289 was hanging in the barn. It was rebuilt and the motor has less than 3,000 miles on it, the trans has about 1,500 miles. We own a 2000 and it is my daily driver it has unfortunately 90,000 miles.

It freakin sucked putting that many miles on it. Between, the tranny, 2 clutches, the new rear end, and of course the infamous Bambi episode, my car was a hurtin unit last season....

Posted by: AsianStanger

My '89 lx has 26,000 miles.
