after barely 6 months of ownership, some [CENSORED FOR YOUR PROTECTION] cuts through a parkinglot, flys out into traffic without looking and caused this :

Keep in Mind, I wasnt moving when I got hit. And the airbag didnt go off either.

I dont think Demona will be coming home

OMG! Are you going to look for another one? Terrible, Terrible, Terrible!!

Posted by: ExBamaGal

Oh no!!!! I'm so sorry Poor stang At least you're okay...and the wheels are still good from what I can tell lol

Time to upgrade

Posted by: Xerxeese

looking for another one depends on how the lawsuit goes (im not one who LIKES to sue people, but this guy was a total idiot) But I do want another stang in the worst way !!!

3 of the 4 rimes are fine, the leaning one in front has rash now...

What TRUELY sucks is the piece that I had under the front was a lip from my previous car, a 99 Cougar. That lip was an aftermarket piece that is no longer made, aka I cant replace that part. Period.

Posted by: Stang101

Sorry to hear that. Can't really tell if its totalled or not, but probably is, depends on year and mileage.

Hope everything works out

Posted by: bullitt5177

Sorry to hear that man. Get yourself a nice new GT after all's said and done, so you can do some nice new burnouts with it at next year's Funspot!!

Posted by: DoubleJ$

omfg!! i would have kicked the shit out of that bastard for ruining that beautiful car. 6 months!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I wanted to. REALLY badly... Then I thought if I do that, I will lose in court.

yeah, my join date is June, thats when I bought the car...

Posted by: siXXXd7coupe

i know your pain...my dads 99 f150 was wrecked by the same kinda person that hit you...just shot out of nowhere...it was bad...but not totaled..truck was 6 months old with hardly 6K on it. 9 grand worth of damage. whats with the air bags not going off tho...i mean that would have totaled the truck hands down , but still it was a hard hit on front drivers side.

Posted by: kissajew86

if they want to total it out then it may be easy to convine them to give you the $$ to fix it yourself...then u could fix it with aftermarket parts....

Posted by: bullitt5177

I say if it's totaled, you buy it off them, and sell all the parts seperately. You could probably make some good money from that.

Posted by: Xerxeese

I dont know yet if it is totaled, im thinking yes considering the frame is tweaked pretty good.
I would fix it myself had I the means and place to do so. I havent a garage to work in and its mighty cold already. Not to mention, I cant straighten the frame. As for buying it and striping it, its stock except for the rims and lip spoiler, so not alot worth stripping off.
If it is totaled, and I cant get a new one ($$$) I will be selling those bullit knock offs

Posted by: kissajew86

if it is totaled, i need a lower radiator hose!!

and the catalitic converter assy!

Posted by: Jimbo_Jack

if its totaled i need a LH side mirror lol sorry to hear your luck i would have killed the guy!

Posted by: Wolfey

Yup, i agree. The person would have to die. I have everyone trained in my car, if the stang gets hit, they get out and hit the person. That way, i don't get into trouble. lol Sorry to hear about it though. I would be bumming myself. Hopefully its not totaled.

Posted by: CPWerks

Even if its not totaled. I would total it myself. Sue his ass, big time. Mess everything up on front, mess the frame up etc...get the guy to pay yo BIG. Cause all this drama is not worth going thru for cheap freaking money. Ya know?

Posted by: bullitt5177

How wide are those Bullitt knock-offs in the back??

Posted by: Xerxeese

Quote:

rims are 17x10.5 out back with 315 35 17 tires
17x9 up front 245 ?? 17

if it DOES get totaled I wont be able to part it out because I wont have the cash to buy it back. The rims would be the only things going, and thats only if I cant get another stang..

thanks for all the support, I need it

Posted by: Rick Sample

When will you know when or if its totaled?

the original quote I got yesterday was for $5500 in damages, after some tear down that rose to 7600 (framerail cannot be straightened, needs to be replaced) that puts me at %60 of value, the cutoff point. literally, if a tail-light bulb were blown , it would definately be totaled. Tomorrow I should hear some more.

Posted by: MCRPARTS

Jay,

We can fix it I know this great T.V. repair man

Man that sucks, I saw this thread for a while didn't know your car got hit. I'll sell you my 92 for 10,000

Then I can go get an 06

Jay, PM me with your phone # I'll call ya

ok.. As of today, she is getting fixed. I got my request filled for a Cobra front bumper. (since the lip I had on there is no longer made) as well as projector headlights to replace the factory ones. So she comes back a bit more unique.
I will post pics once finished, and I have EVERY intention of nitpicking the body work since my insurance put the %100 satisfaction garrantee in writing. If I am not happy, they fix it till I am. (the paint WILL match if I have to make them paint the whole car to do so!)

There is more to this story, but I am at work and cant post all of it now.

oh yeah, anyone know where I can get QUALITY projector headlights besides Ebay ?

Posted by: Xerxeese

These are the headlights I am speaking of, anyone had any dealing with the company in the link ?

Mineral grey doesn't seem that it'd be that hard to match. I'd keep an eye out for overspray more than anything. I had to send mine to the body shop a while back, and now my driver's side door and around my gas cap are covered in overspray. Make sure it's nice and clean when you do you're check too, so you'll make sure not to miss much.

Have you actually seen those headlights in person? I saw them recently. They look good in the picture, but in person, they're boring and a little ricey in my opinion.

As soon as I see how the shop wants to go about doing this (IE are they going to buy the lights, or do I buy em and submit to my insurance for reimbursement)

Jay,

I do carry those lights. Call me for a price or I'll throw a beer can at your canoe next time we go out. Frickin Stang Tuning BAAA

No , I havent seen them in person yet, but I dont think the Black housings would look ricey (I can see where the chrome would)

Its more for the functionality of night driving. Daytime I may get a set of headlight covers anyway

Bullitt,

I went to the new store and had a 3 hour meeting w/the guys last night. It's in Hamstead 15 min from Salem on 121

Right on the main road easy to get to. We have a HUGE garage that we will do blower installs in,and upgrades

Also the parking lot is big enough for a car show in the summer, and there is also a Pizza place and conveiniance store right there.

We'll have everything from bumper inserts (that I can install for you) to heads/blowers/JMS PRODUCTS INC. LOCAL!!!!!! You can't find that ANYWHERE.

I hooked up with (for the fox guys) CGC Cowl Gauge Concepts for those sweet molded pods on the cowls for the 83-93 guys.

It's gonna be good.

Work is underway . I will be ordering those lights from Tony some time this week
Work will take approx 3 weeks to complete. then its back to modding the crazy 6 hehehe

Posted by: langod

Jay -- I'm shocked, I just heard about this. (I don't noramlly haunt the 3.8 forum) I saw your car at the NHMC Cruises over the summer, it was nice!
I hope it all gets put together perfectly for you.

Tony -- when is the store going to open? It sounds great! Where on 121 will it be? Those are my old stomping grounds -- I lived in Sandown before moving to L'derry.

Sorry your thread took a fast U turn. Back on topic... so the insurance company finally decided just to get it fixed? It'll take a lot of skills to get that pony back on the road.

HELP .. Does anyone have a picture of the headlight bezel without the headllight in it ? I need a clear close-up. or is there anyone with a 99+ stang in the tewksbury area willing to pull a headlight out (2 retaining clips) My new headlights dont line up at all. Body guy says its because they arent ford parts.. I am thinking something else is amiss.

If you got aftermarket bulbs also those might be the problem. If you did, try using the stock bulbs when you put the headlight in and see if it fits correctly.

not the bulbs, I know that. I think its a rubber/plastic grommet behind the lights thats either missing, or incorrectly placed.

I will know more tomorrow. I brought it back to the body shop to have him "re-evaluate" his opinion on the headlights, as well as fixing a scuff on the bumper.

They did do a great job on the bodywork, everything is straight, paint matches damn near perfectly.

Posted by: Xerxeese

Well, she is back. not totally perfect, but close.

And my fav pic:

What do you all think ?

and Tony, who was it you said had a pony for my "grill" ?

Posted by: ascmclarn

Looks good, now you just need a set of lower springs, and she will be set.

Yeah, Cervinis is over rated! I was going to get my Cobra-R bumper from Cervinis but I went with ABC exclusive instead and saved more than $200 bucks and the bumper looks perfect! The only thing I have ever ordered from Cervinis was my Stalker wing only because no other company carried it!

As for the grill, I dunno.. I have an idea of what I would like to do if I could get my hands on either a pony from a mach one, or a stock grill emblem (minus the grill) If my idea works, you'll be the first to know

It's just a standard pony from 94-98 or a 99+ Cobra/Mach 1

The standard GT honeycomb grill will not work because the cobra bumper doesn't have the lower mounting holes for it. You can take the chrome pony out of it but you'll need to go to ford (or ebay) and get a mounting bracket for the pony

Posted by: Mustang5L5

And if you want a different look and want a floating pony inside the corral, you can get the Roush grill. You will need the parts from a stock grill though as you will have to transfer the pony and chrome corral from the stock v6/gt grill to the roush peice. It's a unique look

I may be able to make it work without holes , I will know once I look it over.

In a mustang world where many want to remove their grill, I want to add one. This is typical for me

Just letting you know it may not fit correctly due to the bulge" on the bottom of the opening on the Cobra nose. The bulge is in the sale place as the black trim on the Mach 1 grill above. The GT bumper is flat and the grill sits on that. Unsure if you will get it to seat correctly and be flush all the way around. Just wanted to let you know that before you cut holes into that bumper.

If I do it, I wont be cutting that bumper !! If anything, I will be modifying the grill to fit. But thank you for the advice
