I am planning to do a swap to a 2.3 turbo in my 87 lox mustang. It is currently a 2.3 non-turbo with a 5-speed, i am going to put in a 2.3 turbo out of a turbo coupe in it and i want to know what all i will need from the turbo coupe.
1. complete motor w/turbo, intercooler
2. computer
3. engine wiring
Will my 5-speed bolt up directly?
what else is there?
please help ,soon.

ok, you will need the motor, flywheel and clutch (preferably a new clutch) you will also need the computer, and vane air meter and wiring pigtail(mounted under the stock tbird airbox) you will also want the downpipe from the turbo and i personally would have a custom exhaust made, or you can buy one from stinger. the most complete source for all the info you need to do this swap is turbofords.org or stingers website : http://projecthp.ford23.com/TechMain.html
i would also suggest that instead of using the tbird airbox, go ahead and buy a K&N filter with a 3 inch opening. the tranny will bolt right up, as it is the same motor. i personally have completed this swap in my 92 mustang, which is way more difficult than yours will be, as your stock harness will plug into everything on the turbocoupe motor. i had to totally redo the harness in mine as i had DIS ignition and you already have a distributor based ignition.
