Well, i'm in the process of disputing a Mac CAI i purchased off of Ebay. I finall got it after 9 days of waiting. The guy advertised it as new, and it had scratches on the pipes. Also said he would include the MAF which was needed for install, HE DIDN'T. He also didn't include instructions, but i wasn't too worried about that, i got them off internet. I guess, that's what i get for looking for a bargain. I only paid $50.00, so i probably will only get $25.00 of that back. HO HUM.

Sorry to hear about that. Hope you get it worked out.

Hmm...that's weird that he said the MAF would be included. You use your existing one for that. Maybe he meant to say MAF adapter? Probably wouldn't need that anyway.

Well, i took it to my mechanic and he even couldnt figure it out. He said i needed the MAF, cuz mine wouldnt bolt up to the pipe that i got. Whats the adapter that you mentioned? Cuz i think that's what i need. But he said MAF, so i 'm not really sure. All i know is that the stupid thing does not hook up any which way to my MAF. I'm frustrated right now, cuz i was looking forward to doing it myself, and i couldnt get it done.

dun da da!! Here I come with some pictures lol.

This is how my MAC CAI hooked up and I used the stock MAF. Excuse the dirty engine and disregard the yellow circles...was trying to get pics of something else for someone else

Posted by: Wolfey

OMG YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!! I owe you one on this one. Now i'll bring it to my mechanic and say do it. NOW!!!!!!!! Thanks

okay, heres the deal. You guys keep saying that i can use my stock MAF. How can i do that? My stock MAF is a big black bulky tube like thing. I need just that little black box that is sitting on top of Bama's tube in her vehicle. Can i take that off my stock one? If so, how do i do that? Cuz i just showed Bamas pics to my mechaniic and he said that i had to have the MAF (the little black box) to plug my wiring harness into. Sorry, if i'm sounding ignorant on this, but i'm just going by what the mechanic is telling me. Hope someone responds before tomorrow on this, cuz hes doing my bezel, and he will do this also if i can figure it out. this is the exact picture of what i got. So where or how do i get the MAF??? I dont have that whole silver adapter piece with the black box, to plug into. that's the piece i assume he was supposed to send me that he didnt. It has a square piece and 4 holes to screw that adapter piece into, that's the piece i'm missing.
http://www.mustangevolution.com/articles/caiinstall/ OMG!!!! NOW I GOT IT! DUH! okay i found this site and it explains how to take it out. SOO, this means it will be in tomorrow. LOL Yipee.

Posted by: kissajew86

you need to dissassemble the big black bulky assy. the maf will come out from inside there.

exbama gal has an aluminum maf. some mafs are black plastic, same setup tho.....but you still have to remove the outer houseing

Posted by: Wolfey

Yeah, this site i found goes into very detail instructions. Thanks everyone for all your input. If i don't get it done tomorrow, i will be steaming. lol

Glad you got it figured out. Good luck with it!

so, did ya get it done? lets see some pics.

if you had questions about what you got, and what you were supposed to get, then why didn't you juse email the seller and ask where the maf/maf adapter was?

Posted by: Wolfey

Because the seller would not respond back to me. He also advertised it as new, and it is scratched up. I'm hoping to polish some of those scratches away.

Looks good! Glad you got it figured out finally lol. I usually use PhotoShop to resize my pics but I'm sure there are a number of other programs.

Posted by: ExBamaGal

Actually, just found this post here also. Don't know how the program is but it may be worth a shot
