Suggestion for us dial-up users

I was just checking out carolinarides.com and they have set up the site so that each person's sig only appears once for every thread they post in. If they post more than once the sig doesn't show up.
Just thought something like this may help out with our dial-up users (like me lol) that way they don't have to wait for every sig in every post to load.

Tiffany, are you still using dialup? If so, how fast does our main site load and our forums load? I was thinking of shrinking the quality of some of our images or even doing away with the "Latest Members Uploads" on forum home if it will help speed up the site a little! If it does take a while to load on dial up, this could help users stick around more. I've never loaded this site on dial up before, I've alwaysed use cable or T3.

I still have dial up but mine is suprisingly fast compared to others. This site loads pretty fast for me. I was mainly suggesting for other dial-up users lol. Maybe another dial-up user could help us out

I'm not to worried about it The last time we had a complaint about our site being to slow was when we were on a slow server. Since we upgraded servers, we haven't had any complaints. Someday I might shrink some of the images. They will still be the same quality, just less file size so they will load faster.

Why don't you set up an option on the main site for dial-up users, that'll have less images, and maybe even be a different format? I know when I had dial-up, I loved it when they had that option. It would typically do away with such things as subframes, but since we don't have those here, maybe something else?

We couldn't really do anything to the main site for our dial-up users. For our forums, the only thing I could really do is set up another style, but less sophisticated. I might do something like that in the near future. I'm definetly going to reduce the image quality to save on some bandwith and to help our dial-up users.
