I have a 71 or 72 351W just waiting to be dropped in my 'Stang. The mechanic I bought it from for $100.00 siad it was taken from the original Galaxy Special and was rebuilt with all new and refurbished parts to match the 1969 351W compression and performance. He dropped it into a Torino and then let it sit for about a year. I have it now and want to drop it in my 93 Fox. I plan on having it rebuilt and give it all new modern components and techniques. Are there any special considerations I need to take into account when machining or building it? I would like to build it for streetability as well as very respectible performance. I will never take this 'Stang onto a track. Is a fuel injection system feasable for this mill? Can I put things like cruise control, power brakes, and a dry sump pump on it without hurting the performance much? Would an electric water pump be too much for a non-track setup? I also want a dual alternator system on this car if it doesn't prove a drining power sucker. I want to see this engine with all the luxery features on it as well as kick*** performance. When the whole vehicle is done, it will have luxery inside, eyepopping mods outside, and high performance throughout. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Posted by: boss66tcode Headers, intakes, etc. would need to be changed. I'm told a holley EFI upper intake will bolt to a 351w truck/bronco EFI lower intake. You'll need bigger injectors too. Good luck Curt Posted by: winsorfalcon if you want to go to an efi set up you will have to get the computer set up for it and all the materials needed to make the convertion. i would recomend that you don't go with a dual alternator set up. just go with like a 190 amp alternator instead. with your motor you should put headers, electric water pump is to much just go with an aluminum high flow style. a cheaper way then efi you could go with a carb. a edelbrock proformer rpm and a 750cfm carb would work great. i have a 351w in my drag car. its a great motor. Posted by: 87Stallion The dual altinator sounds a little much so dont do it. I took the EFI off of my stang and went to a carb and it peforms alot better and it is alot easier to work with so I would go with a carb set up it is alot easier and cheaper. I think a 650cfm to 750cfm carb would be perfect depends on what you want to do.
