Can any of you audio wizards answer this?

A friend just picked up a 2002 Grand Marquis. It has a AM/FM/cassette radio and she'd like CDs. Will the Mustang AM/FM/6CD Changers fit and plug right in? Or is it a different radio or wiring? How about another Ford radio? (yeah, the pic shows CD buttons, but unless they've hidden the CD changer really well, it doesn't seem to have one.)

Alternatively, what would be the best (cheapest!) way to do it?

easiet cheapest way would be to buy a harness from crutchfeild plus the dash install kit then just go get whatever head unit you'd like.

i don't believe a 6cd changer would work as they are for the 460 system which that car doesn't have.

The Mustang MACH 460 won't work with it as it's a system based unit.

BUT, Ford does have it's CD-6 which is basically a Mach 460 head unit...but designed to be independant. Ford put that unit in a lot of cars. i would assume it was an option there since they went with the double-din unit specifically to shoehorn the CD-6 into a lot of vehicles as that was the standard Ford radio from around 00 to 04/05.

Look on ebay for Ford CD-6's. You may find one from a gran marquis or crown vic. Unsure if the wiring is the same though for plug and play operation.

BTW, all these ford radios do have CD changer ability...even the Mach 460. I have my Ipod wired into it's cd changer port.
