I for one thought the red sox gave up too much for this to happen....

Still too soon to figure out how I feel about this, but initial reaction is uneasy. It's a shame that after 7 or 8 years with the sox...this is how he will be remembered in Boston:

They had no place for Brandon Moss and Hansen sure wasn't going to find it this year. Hell, they could have given away 90% of their bullpen with Manny and it wouldn't of detracted me from doing the deal. The Pirates made out big time here, but let's not be so quick to forget how much shipping a disgruntled cancer in the form of Nomar did for this club in '04. This team is lifeless right now and Bay has just as good of numbers as Manny and he will actually play every night! End of an era....thanks for the two WS Manny! Have fun trying to pull your BS with Torre!

I agree to much termoil for the buck. Your right Bay has the same numbers except for less errors. Good by and good luck, and thanks for the memories good and bad.

Surprised to hear to the Dodgers, but all and all Manny was good for the Sox while he was here. He taked the talk, but when it came down to playing he hit the ball when it counted.
