Posted by: NastySVT I sold my 04 loaded G35 and bought my Cobra never been happier. Buy my cobra instead!
Posted by: Mustang5L5 I can't do a Mustang as a DD anymore. Too rough and loud for me and too small inside. I spent the entire weekend driving an '08 Lexus around and loved every second. Never had to take the keys out of my pocket. Just walk up to the door, pull and hop in and push a button and go. It was great. I love Mustangs, but i can't drive them as an everyday car anymore. I could have a 600 rwHP '04 Yellow cobra convertible and still say the same thing.
Posted by: Ozz Get the G, dammit. I lose track between mine and the Stang as to which gets more compliments. Most likely the G though because I drive the Stang about 3% of the time :p Posted by: TorchRedSVT hey mike, check this one out...saw this last night when I was out...its at the local dealer here. Looks like a nice car thats at a decent price http://d.dlrsp.com/powersite/p2_site...ly=&excludeMak Posted by: Dark_Cobra Simple answer... The New Lexus IS F . Pricey but for a 415 hp 5.0 liter luxury quality car with an 8 speed (ferrari quality) tiptronic. I'd buy it in a second. f'n sweet ride for about 60 grand loaded. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...s_f/index.html POWERTRAIN/CHASSIS Drivetrain layout Front engine, RWD Engine type 90-degree V-8, aluminum block/heads Valvetrain DOHC, 4 valves/cyl Displacement 303.2 cu in/4969 cc Compression ratio 11.8:1 Power (SAE net) 416 hp@6600 rpm Torque (SAE net) 371 lb-ft @ 5200 rpm Redline 6800 rpm Weight to Power 09.1 lb/hp Transmission 8-speed automatic Axle/Final-drive ratios 2.94:1/2.01:1 Suspension, front; rear Control arms, coil springs, anti-roll bar; multilink, coil springs, anti-roll bar Steering ratio 13.6:1 Turns lock-to-lock 2.9 Brakes, f;r 14.2-in vented, drilled disc; 13.6-in vented, drilled disc, ABS Wheels, f;r 8.0 x 19 in; 9.0 x 19 in forged aluminum Tires, f;r 225/40R19 93Y; 255/35R19 96Y Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 DIMENSIONS Wheelbase 107.5 in Track, f;r 61.4/59.6 in Length x width x height 183.5 x 71.5 x 55.7 in Turning circle 33.5 ft Curb weight 3805 lb Weight dist, f/r 54/46% Seating capacity 4 Headroom, f/r 37.2/36.7 in Legroom, f/r 43.9/30.6 Shoulder room, f/r 54.4/52.7 in Cargo volume 13.3 cu ft TEST DATA Acceleration to mph 0-30 1.8 sec 0-40 2.7 0-50 3.6 0-60 4.7 0-70 5.9 0-80 7.2 0-90 8.6 0-100 10.5 Passing, 45-65 mph 2.2 Quarter mile 13.0 sec @ 111.7 mph Braking, 60-0 mph 106 ft Lateral acceleration 0.91 g, avg MT Figure Eight 24.5 sec @ 0.78 g, avg Top-gear revs @ 60 mph 1600 rpm CONSUMER INFO Base Price $60,000 (est) Price As Tested $64,000 (est) Stability/traction control Yes/yes Airbags Dual front, front side, f/r curtain, front knee Basic warranty 4 yrs/50,000 miles Powertrain warranty 6 yrs/70,000 miles Roadside assistance 4 years/Unlimited Fuel capacity 16.9 gal EPA city/hwy econ 16/23 mpg (est) CO2 Emissions 1.05 lb/mile (est) Recommended fuel Premium Posted by: Mustang5L5 IS F is an awesome car. AWD model should be available in '09 from what i've read. Ian, if i get a G35, it needs to be a '06 model fully loaded with all the toys. Reason i want '06 is a few mechanical changes and interior options not available in 05-earlier. 07+ is the new body style...and honestly I'm not a fan. I would go for a nice '07 though if i found it. Only reason i haven't bought anything now is i REFUSE to dump my GT. Trade-in offers have been $6000-7000 and that's a huge loss to me. NADA is Around $11K now and id take $10K for it...maybe even consider $9500. If i don't sell it...hey, no big deal i have a reliable car with no car payment for a little while longer. Even next year if i finally do dump it off in trade i'd prob get around the same as i would now, save about 6 months of payments and the car i'd want would be cheaper anyway. Lexus does have some sweet lease deals though with unlimited mileage if you stay in a lexus. They also have free maintainence and the warranty, so no more oil changes or any maintaince. I like that a lot as i have ZERO desire to work on cars anymore I could see myself getting an IS350 now and then going to an ISF down the road. Posted by: Dark_Cobra DO it.. IS-F .. I saw one last week at the Providence Place Mall. It really didn't stickout until you walked around it.. Man was it sweet.. And it was silver !! Posted by: NastySVT I am a certified lexus technician.. lol ISF is a hot car but too pricey. Z06>ISF same price Posted by: TorchRedSVT mike buddy , i hear ya loud and clear. I am bringing my car next week to have springs and caster camber plates done becuase I don't want to work on it anymore....those days are over for me. now is a tough time to sell a Mustang...especailly a V8 one....its a buyers market which is not easy. I hope you are able to sell it becuase it really is an above average mustang. Posted by: Mustang5L5 I'm not in a rush to sell. When it sells it sells. Like i said, in the meantime, i have a reliable, fun car that's paid off to drive around in. This fall i'm going to look for a cheap little 4-banger to drive as i want to start using a commuter car rather than rack up 400 miles/week on the Mustang or whatever car i drive. before i took my new job, i would barely drive 10K miles/year even going to work. If i can find a commuter, i can get a 10K mile lease on either a G35x or an IS 250 AWD (or IS350). Plus i am in line for a promotion at work...so maybe my price range will bump a tad
