I was just wondering what all would I have to get to do this, and how possible is it actually to do? How would I have to do my guages and i would prolly just make some solid motor mounts. any help would be great! Posted by: Xerxeese on a dodge, I cant help.. I do know anything is possible. I would think the easiest way to do it would be to have a donor vehicle. and stick with the dodge 5.9. Putting in a 350 (I am assuming you meant chevy) will create MANY headaches in the getting an inspection department Posted by: CSC Quote:
Yes the 5.9 would be alot easier i agree, but i was thinking something carberated(spelling) because I am fixing to put a suspension lift on top of the body lift that it already has and puttin some bigger off road tires on it and some various other suspension and off road parts. and when i go v8 im plannin on makin the exhaust come threw the bed like a diesel and putting a snorkel on it, which would be easier with a carb. I do alot of off roading and mudding so im tryin to make it to where it wont screw anyhting up to bad when I go out, but will also have more power because that v6 just doesnt cut it with the lift and bigger tires it already has. Posted by: Xerxeese hehehe Man.... I have been jeeping for YEARS and I will tell you , DONT use a carb off road. Off camber situations wreak havoc with floats etc. And if youre looking for power because of the wheels, you are running the wrong gears in the axels. My friend is running a Wrangler, with 37 inch tires and a 4 cylinder. power offroad is not a problem (and driveshafts/ Ujoints last longer) Posted by: CSC Quote:

and the no 5th issue, all about the gearing. If you were to swap gears, or put smaller tires on, it would fix that issue. as for what gears, it all depends on a few things. Tire size desired, auto/manual etc. There are calculators online to hepl with such matters, and the guys at Randy's might be able to help too. Look up some 4 wheeling forums for even more help (NEOW.ORG has forums, they are a northeast based deal, but the forums have tons of info) Ford Mustang Archive Home | General Tech | 5.0 Mustang Tech | 4.6 Mustang Tech | 3.8 Mustang Tech | 2.3 Mustang Tech | Classic Mustang Tech | Appearance and Sound | Virtual Body Shop | Initiation | The Lounge | The Showroom | Site Suggestions | Mustang Talk | 2005 Ford Mustang | Ford Lightning | Racers Bench | For Sale | Wanted To Buy | Northeast | SouthEast | Central | MidWest | West Coast | NEBOC
