(on factory tires!) GM may be going out of business, but they're going FAST! http://www.leftlanenews.com/2009-cad...rburgring.html
Posted by: jmac72187 I saw this the other day. I heard that the GT-R's time wasn't completely legit. They didn't finish the last straightaway and there was something else too. Either way, both of the cars are sick. Posted by: badass98svt That new ZR1 is sick! Only thing I don't like is the see through hood. Looks corny in my opinion. Posted by: Mustang5L5 I kinda like the hood. I'm disappointed you couldn't hear a lot of blower whine. I was expecting it to sound like an 03/04 Cobra under WOT Posted by: Mustang5L5 Carbon Ceramic brakes ![]()
Posted by: badass98svt ^^^ Wonder what they'll cost to maintain? Posted by: kissajew86 well i know th porsche carbon ceramic brakes are 10k for rotors and pads....dono if that is the true cost or just because they are porsche Posted by: langod Well considering that Porsche supercar is what, half a million bucks or so, I can see them charging that much. (That Porsche logo is very expensive) The Vette ZR1 is rumored to be about $100,000 -- so I bet they'll be getting 2 or 3 grand for a full brake setup. Posted by: badass98svt $100k for a FACTORY STOCK VETTE!!! No wonder GM is going down the tubes. Unless they're only making 5 or so. Posted by: kissajew86 Quote:
pccb brakes are an option on all porsche 911, not just the gt super car, the option is 10k Posted by: Mustang5L5 Quote:
They will sell every one they make. Posted by: jmac72187 +1 It may be factory stock, but it beats the other supercars out there that cost multiples of that. Posted by: badass98svt Ford makes a $60k stang and everyone says it's too expensive. But a $100k vette is a-ok? Waaaaay too much IMO. It's still a GM product. Posted by: Mustang5L5 But the vette is in a difference class than a Mustang. It's more of a true sports car. Posted by: jmac72187 Quote:
Posted by: Jarhead46 ZR1 I've seen it in person, if I only had 150k to spend on a car that would be it.

Posted by: TorchRedSVT impressive. John, the issue with the GT-R was the fact it was using a reflashed PCU and aftermarket tires as opposed to the ZR-1 which did its laps right out of the box. ZR-1's are being sold with current mark up's for 200K plus at this time. There are a few people over on SVT who have already purchased...its a beast of a car that's for sure. They aren't making very many of them, so the 100k price tag is justified. Posted by: Dark_Cobra This came out today about the price gouging involved in getting a ZR-1 http://jalopnik.com/396780/dealer-go...rice-of-413000 Posted by: Mustang5L5 Vette is no longer #1 http://www.motortrend.com/features/p...ord/index.html http://www.motortrend.com/av/feature...deo/index.html Ford Mustang Archive Home | General Tech | 5.0 Mustang Tech | 4.6 Mustang Tech | 3.8 Mustang Tech | 2.3 Mustang Tech | Classic Mustang Tech | Appearance and Sound | Virtual Body Shop | Initiation | The Lounge | The Showroom | Site Suggestions | Mustang Talk | 2005 Ford Mustang | Ford Lightning | Racers Bench | For Sale | Wanted To Buy | Northeast | SouthEast | Central | MidWest | West Coast | NEBOC
