Cruise??

Do you guys have a cruise planed for the summer or fall?? Not a cruise night where you sit in a parking lot, but a driving cruise.

There is a foilage cruise in the fall. All i can think of off the top of my head

NEBOC has one planned for later in the year (10/18) .. checkout the NEBOC schedule.. We just talked about this at our meeting Sunday.

We always have the cruise open to all..

And the choices this year are :

1. Cape Cod

2. Mt Greylock AutoRoad

We also are planning to get together for this event with some other clubs and people from the NH area .. It'd be great to prepare early for it so consider this a heads up ..

There is definitly a fall cruise that is usually an end of season kind of thing, last hoorah for a lot of people. Details are still to come, but expect to see some stuff start to get posted late august early september. Cruise usually happens in Mid to early October when the foliage is at its peak.

As for a summer cruise, they definitly happen from time to time, just gotta keep your eyes peeled to the different forums. To my knowledge there hasn't been a true organized summer cruise but I can tell you we have made cruises at night and stuff.

We use to do the NEBOC beach cruise .. which turned into just a cookout. Next year I'm thinking of bringing back the beach cruise because we use to get 25-30 cars for this one and a great time.

I know that NHMC talked about doing a cruise up to Sunapee through the western part of the states mountains. I haven't heard much about it since the winter meeting though.

I always liked the highway cruises. I've been on a few with 20-25 cars all together on the highway. The attention we got was always fun.

When the cruise his minor highways and streets, it usually gets broken up and then you end up in small 3-4 car groups...which isn't as fun.

Sounds like the Stang Train to A&W .. or Funspot !!

Oh.. SS , you gotta jump on the cruise "train" to Funspot in Sept.. Breakfast is always waiting at the last stop!! and we've had 30+ in that cruise up

Agree, the more traffic lights the smaller the groups become. Besides it's fun to play around on the highway.

We got a babysitter last Wed. We drove through Rye and Portsmouth. It was a fantastic time.

Funspot is Sept 7th... Here's the dilly in advance.

We will meet at Rockingham mall by 7am (usually).. And drive in a big cruise (stang train) up to Bobby's girl diner in Meredith for breakfast. then it's a quick drive over to the show at Funspot . Been kind of a tradition for this forum family now for 5 years or more... Always a blast. .. Bring extra money for speeding tickets.. LOL Just kidding

The site says the roads are closed to all public traffic for 2007 and 2008 season.

Well it appears the My Greylock spot will not be available this year, bummer.

Don't worry though, a foliage cruise will still be put together and organized just stay tuned for details on that.

Where do you want to go? I bet if you said, "Hey, Chris and I feel like cruising to "x" -- who wants to tag along in a Stang Train?", you'd get a bunch of people who would join up.

There is an NHMC cruise coming up -- If I remember correctly, it's a meet-for-breakfast-and-then-cruise-somewhere-scenic type of deal. I don't think it's members only. ('course you could make that a non-issue for $30/year!)

Hampton would be a cool place.
Additionally run up the Atlantic coastline a bit via Rt. 1A
Then rebound back down via 95 and back to 93(S)

i wont be around at all this weekend for a cruise, ill be at the nationals. If I was you I'd steer clear of the seacost for cruising this weekend...it will be one giant traffic jam.

if you guys wanna do a cruise up to the seacoast, your best bet is during the week at night. I'd be more than happy to help out to get that organized.

How about this:
Let's meet at the MCRPARTS meet.....in Salem, Tues night 6/8, and "MAP out our plan and lock it in. Then well post it up .....as official.

In the interim.........Pitch out "Desireable Cruise routes," so that we can have that portion ready to start the talks.

My pick: Hampton/Rt.1a (Seacoast)/Rt.95/Rt.93 Blast

I like the cape idea, i am actually headed down there this weekend for a few days with the GF..ill pick up a map while i am down there and see if we can make some kind of a nice loop.

We did a cape cod cruise a few years back (including a place to stay in Hyannis).. only 4 people went... we went all the way out to P-Town and back

Bob, we just did the hampton/Rte 1a cruiose last october.

I really wanted to cruise rte.2 to Mt. Greylock, but that is out of the question.

I like the Hampton idea. I know that we did it last October, we should just make the route a bit different and try to avoid the downtown areas with so many cars. It was a mess last time. We ended up with cars scattered everywhere.

We're cruising down to CT on 7/13 for a Dyno Day and Car Show at Mongillo Motors.

I like this one too -- didn't you guys stop at some awesome seafood place too?

Another fun one might be a cruise through along the Kangmangus Highway. It's a bit of a drive to get there -- 2 hours or so, but it's a fun road.
We could all meet in Lincoln and pull off at one or another of the scenic overlooks and have a picnic lunch.

I love that place!! BYOB and coolers are encouraged. A bunch of friends and I try to go up at least one time a year, we bring a couple coolers and spend pretty much the whole afternoon there playing cards and drinking, o'yeah and don't forget the FRIED CLAMS!!! (and everyone else gets the steamers)

This I think would be a great fall cruise with the leaf changing. Head up and drive around the lake and head up Rt 16 through Ossipee, or another way would be through Merideth up through Ashland (I think) to Plymouth. I used to do this route when I was taking classes at Plymouth St and driving from Gilford.

Plymouth State?? You must have heard of the infamous ED there!! Kids up there still probably wonder if they will ever get to meet the world famous ED that their alumni speak of.

after just getting back from the Cape, I do have a nice cruise route picked. However, its simply too far to do on a week night and I am sure you can guess how the weekends are going to be for the rest of the summer down there.

I will take a look into any cruise routes up towards the rockport, gloucster, ipswich area next.

the Sailsbury/hampton cruise is always a great option, close easy and everyone already knows the route.

Hey I'm from the Ipswich, Rockport area I live in Essex and we have some real nice back roads, and some nice roads that go along the coast .

yeah I have been up there a few times and there are some definite nice routes...I dont really spend any time up there and I'd like to get to know the area.

Do me a favor, PM me with a couple of routes and stuff and lets try to put together a route for a cruise sometime.

I like the beach run!! If it happens on a weekend Hampton is a parking lot though. You go nowhere fast. It's nice on a weekday evening.
