Anyone going this weekend?

Posted by: MY-S281

Yep.. I will be heading up around 10 am tomorrow morning..

I go to both races annually, Usually have a spot on for the RV on the
" hill ".. this race we are right outside of the track but will be sitting on the hill for the races.. Best seats in the house!!

Back on the hill for Sept this year, Hoping its not the last Sept race since the track got sold..

Posted by: silverbullit02

A friend of mine had a extra ticket. I have been to the Sept race a bunch of times but never a summer race. We are sitting in Laconia grandstand. I heard a ad on the radio for tickets to the race buy one ticket get another for free, WOW I've never heard that.

Posted by: MY-S281

Lots of tickets available I'm sure..

It's only because of the expected rain.. trust me the summer race is just as packed as Sept usually..

I also do the Daytona 500 Annually, my bro and dad live down there so me and my buddies fly in and stay in the infield for the week and you learn to just take it as it comes as far as the weather.. Hot, cold, rain, dry.. just make the best of it.. Drink lots, eat plenty ,sleep well..

so when it comes to racing as Harry Hooge said:

"No, no, he didn't slam you, he didn't bump you, he didn't nudge you... he *rubbed* you. And rubbin, son, is racin'."

Do you go to any other tracks besides Daytona and Louden? I used to go down to Dover three years in a row then it got way too expensive hotel, gas and tickets.

Posted by: MY-S281

Been to Charlotte once back in the early 80's but been trying to get a track side RV site at Watkins Glen the last couple years but no luck..

Been thinking about trying to hit the Pocono Race, Our RV up here isn't too suitable for too long of a trip, I have been spoiled, if I cant camp there I don't want to be there..

Gotta driver?

#20. You?

Posted by: hurtin_monky

I'll be going Friday, Sunday and maybe Saturday. Garage and pits all 3 days, Concord grandstand on Sunday - with a little luck infield parking.....Maybe I 'll run into you Barry

#6 and #99

Posted by: MY-S281

coincidentally the # 99

used to be a 11 fan..

Kind of a Jr. fan too because of my daughter..

I am off to pack,,,,

Hope for dry weather, so we can all enjoy the race..!

Have a good race weekend. I'll be hanging out in the parking lot behind turns3 and 4. Cookout and hanging out with friends.

"I need to come in."

"Nope, sorry son"

"Why not?"

"Cause we're having an ice cream..."

The most classic line though is:

" I want you to go out there an hit the pace car."
"What? Hit the pace car?"
"Yep"
"Why?"
"Cause it's the only damn thing out there that you haven't hit tonight"

Yes, that Pace car line was a classic...

Well all in all the weekend worked out well as far as the racing.. They got all the races in between the rain... and my pals and I stayed pretty dry all things considered and we even finished up all of our supplies (i. e. Food and booze..) and then some...

Back to the track for another long weekend of racing in Sept...

Just a bit..

Posted by: badass98svt

I think it's absolutely ridiculous that they can just call a race with 20 laps left.
Another reason I no longer watch Nascar. Some of the rules/changes are getting just silly.

Cant say I disagree with you PJ.. I know that the only reason they called it so early at Loudon is because there are no lights and it didn't look like it would clear up and leave enough time for the track to dry..

Talk is that the new owner wants to put light in but I don't think it will happen..

Posted by: badass98svt

There's also talk that he wants to get rid of "the hill" and put in more seats. What a dick. Seriously.

Were you in the reserved section? not sure if it's all reserved or not, but i know melanie was in that area. They have a 26' or so trailer with a True Blue F350 Power Stroke. Sound familiar at all?

Ya that will suck if he takes over the hill with more seating... Actually I have heard that there is something written somewhere that it may not be possible to do because of the road course they have there, a friend of mine told me its written in the bylaws or something like that regarding the alterations allowed but the new owner Bruton Smith has TONS of $$$$ so we all know $$$ talks and BS walks.. My true hope is the hill stays.. he is actually trying to get the INDY Car series back there also for 2009

I was on the "Hill" for the races but our RV wasn't this time, we have a 27' Class C Ford Tioga , we stayed right outside of the Hill area but we got on the guest list from the guy we usually get the spot on the hill from.. We get the wrist bands for the weekend of racing , its actually the best deal going... $125 for the entire weekend.. all the practices, qualifying, and 4 Nascar Sanctioned races 1 Friday, 2 Saturday, 1 Sunday so it really is a great deal...

I know people that spend $80-$100 just for Sundays race to be squished in the stands like a sardine.. The "hill" rocks.. We have our regular Site for Sept which is on the "hill" in the Reserved area.. most of the camping sites are classified as reserved but there is only 1 truly reserved area and the "hill" is it.

I actually think I might have seen the truck.. I probably noticed it because it was "true Blue" I may have even seen them and just didn't realize it..lol The beers and BUG JUICE was flowing heavy this weekend... you should head up in Sept just for the party.. you can get a wrist band for the Hill just for Sunday for $60, well worth it... lots of good partying goes on up there...

Barry,

I saw Fabio there, him and I were fight on the start finish line.If I new you were on the hill I woulda walked over.My friend Brian and I sat in the parking lot peeling back beers all morning.

Montoya wrecking Kyle was AWESOME that prick deserved it. Like Jr. said earlier in the season after Kyle wrecked him with 2 to go. "There's a long line ahead of me to get to that guy"
