Bittersweet weekend at Englishtown

We (PJ, Becky, BryGuy, my friend Dave, and I) all went to NJ this weekend for the NHRA Supernationals. It was an absolute blast from beginning to end but witnessing the death of Scott Kallita was extremely shocking and sad. Here are some pics. PJ, post yours up when you get a chance.

A very emotional and classy move was made by Robert Hight/John Force Racing on Sunday. Instead of running the race Hight was scheduled to run up against Kallita, he simply gave up lane choice for next round and honored Kallita by idling down the track.

"“My motor was idling and I could see my car on the Motel 6 Vision and it showed the Kalitta team and family. That really chokes you up. Then they showed the stands and everyone clapping. I could see out the sides of my Mustang at all the people clapping. The whole time down the race track it was a twenty three second run I couldn’t even tell my motor was running it was so quiet,” said Hight."

It was absolutely terrible. It was my first time attending an NHRA event, and I certainly didn't want to see what I did.
Very depressing.
Other than the obvious issue, we all had a great time!
I took LOTS of pics, and I'll post them up and some point today.
