The wheel saga continues...

Took the new rear wheels/tires off and put my factory rims with drag radials on and no wobble.

It can only be the wheels. The hubs are not warped. The bearings are all good. Checked those already and they are fine. Sending the wheels back. I would prefer to send them with the tires and make them pay to dismount and remount them, but I doubt they will be that accomodating.

I mean at this point, the only thing left that could possibly be wrong is the wheels. Have you called Lethal and talked to them about it? My fear is the wheels may have gotten warped when you first threw them on there and are now permantently damaged.

before you go through the hassell of sending em back, would it be easier if someone drove down to your place and put them on thier car and see if you get teh same result?

Good idea, but it would require someone with the same mods to fit 315's (Low-profile IRS bolts and long enough studs for the spacers)

Already swapped them around, they wobble no matter what vehicle they are on. The problem was the wheels from the beginning. They are not true, which is the major issue. The right one does a 1/4" hop each time it goes around a rotation. The left one has a 1/4'' obble side to side, when it goes around.

Before I got my chrome Saleens, I was looking on ebay and one seller had craploads of negative feedback for out of round wheels from like 20 different people

I guess I got lucky when I bought my ebay rims; I got the 99-04 Saleen speedline style in 18x9 size and paid $389 plus shipping. they are painted silver. brand new and no problems with out of round or anything and they even included centercaps and lugnuts with the deal.

I contacted Lethal Performance, where I bought the rims from and they referred me to the manufacturer, Wheel Replicas. I spoke with their rep this morning. They are escalating this to the owner of the company as they claim they have never had an issue like this before. They are not sure what they are going to do. I am being patient for now, but my car has been down for over 4 weeks now due to this and I am more than a little frustrated.

Carol, did you say you tried them on anotjher car?

You should mount them, put the rear up on the lift and let the wheels spin at idle in first gear and make a vid of them wobbling and then send them to the rep or whoever you are talking to.

Did that already. Wheel Replica's thinks it's a balance issue. I have to take a closer look at the weights and their placement and shoot some pics to email to them tonight when I get home. They said they can tell just by looking at the weights if that really is the problem. We'll see...

Make sure you tell them they we you another 30.00 for wasting the time and money rebalancing

A wheel balance issue wouldn't cause physical wobble of the wheel though. Minor vibration yes maybe...but not what it was doing when we saw you driving down to A&W.

For reference, I had no weights at all on my drag wheels last year (cheap Summit wheels), and I only had a vibration at highway speed. Wheel balance will not cause that.

The replacement rims and tires are in and the swap is happening today. If all goes well, the car will be ready to head to Carlisle tomorrow.

I must say thanks to Fred for being a trooper with swapping the tires off and on, side to side countless times while we sorted it out. Despite his cursing and extreme disdain for the car, he managed to put up with the whole situation rather well.
