I'm thinking about getting my blower port & polished. Couple things, Is there an easy way to tell if its already been done?? I dont beleive its been done but not 100% sure. About how much extra HP will this give you?? Where should I have it done & where are they located(someone I can trust & knows what they are doing)? Last but not least, about how much do I need to save up to do this?? Thanks for any extra info & help.

Send James a PM at masscobra03 and ask him...I know he has been researching this topic since last year when he picked up his Terminator....

hey man, it looks like by your avatar you have an 03 cobra. Are you by chance the guy who has the redfire that was at londonderry a few weeks back? You ahve the JLT patined to match CAI and a 2.93 pulley correct?? Nice Car!!

As far as the ported blower goes, there is really only one company to go to and that's a company called Steigmeier. I would suggest you join up over at svtperformance.com and start doing some research...TONS of threads and alot of cobra guys over there. In anycase, Steigmeier is the company about 90% of the 03/04 cobra community user. His web site is: http://www.stiegemeier.com/

Spend a few minutes on that site, you'll get a great idea about how much power you can expect from getting a port.

Hope that atleast gets you started

Yup, that was me. The car is an 04 with an 2.76 upper & 4lb lower. Thank you for the info & nice comments. Not sure if I met you that night or not. Its gonna take me forever to remember who is who. If I didnt meet you I hope to meet ya at some point soon. You going to the June 1st show or the fathers day show??

Posted by: TorchRedSVT

I was standing around your car for a while waiting but you didnt come by...probably walking around looking at all the other cars..no worries. I will definitly be at the Fathers day show, still unsure about the June 1st show. Look forward to meeting you and killer set up. What kinda #'s are you putting down?

As far as #'s I dont have anything solid to go by. I hope to get a dyno run with it soon. With the pullys,CAI,SLP exhuast, & SCT tune I was told it was over 500(told 525). Who the heck knows. It goes like a raped ape & I couldnt tell ya if it was 450,500, or more. Thats why I want to put it on the dyno. I bought the car from a guy who owns a Ford dealership in MO. He was selling it to thin out some of his toys. He was replacing it with a new Cobra GT500. The funny part is that he got his new GT500 & didnt like it like the SVT. He said it didnt handle nearly as well as the SVT & that the SVT pushed him back in the seat much more as it was more powerful. He went back to the dealership the next day & told the sales manager to tell me he no longer wanted to sell the car to me. The good news for me was I had just faxed all the signed paperwork to back to them with my flight times. He was screwed!!!! I felt really bad for the guy.........NOT From the first time I walked up to it its been love at first sight.

What #'s are you getting & what have you done??

A 2.76 witha 4# lower should yield you about 460ish/470ish horsepower and you should be close to if not over 500 rwtq with that combo. If you plan on doing a stiegemeir port, theres a possibility of maxing out the fuel system. Meaning you may need injectors, a KB Boost-A-Pump, and new MAF. Each car is different and some are still on the stock equipment. If I were you, I would switch to a 2.93 ring when you get the blower ported because a 2.93/4# lower with a port are the most efficient and give the most power. I saw you had the BilletFlow interchangable pulley ring on your car so you would only have to get the 2.93 ring and not a new hub. The rings are pretty cheap. And of course after all this is done you will need to have the retuned. This is where you"ll find out baout what you may or may not need to do to the fuel delivery system.

james hit it, the issue will be heat soak once you get the port and maxing out the fuel system. Pete will be able to help you with that if you go down that road

as for my car, I am pretty much stock. All I have done is an intake, catback and a tune from alternative auto in WI. I put down 424 rwhp, 389ft lb's.

I bought my car used from a guy in Michigan and did the same thing you did...bought the car over the net...flew out and drove it back.

Future mods probably include a 2.93 with 4piece idler set from billet flow...I just want a 400+/400 ftlbs + car. I dont need or want to make big numbers cuase I'll never put all of it to the ground effectively ( care of the IRS ). I do not plan on hacking this car up as its a cruiser for me not a racer.

Look forward to seeing you again, and good luck. I'd spend some time browsing the SVT site and http://www.stangshiftergaskets.com/ and you'll find more info than you will know what to do with.
