Posted by: KrazyPony Has Magnaflow Exhaust, Mach1 Grill Delete & Chin Spoiler, and everything else is mainly stock on it...FOR NOW! Posted by: Rick Sample It looks great! I really like that color. What do you have planned for it? Posted by: EastCoast5.0 Congrats, it looks very clean. Very nice color too! Posted by: Xerxeese DSG Ownes all !! (although I am a touch biased) looks sweet ! Posted by: Jimbo_Jack wow lookfamiliar only mine is blue Posted by: KrazyPony hmmm Jack I see Red! Posted by: ExBamaGal Ohhhh!!! I'm thinking this one is much better! LOVE IT!! Posted by: KrazyPony Thank you dear, I like it very much too....40k less miles, nice color, newer year... things I dont like is the stereo, doesnt have shuffle on the 6cd unit, the button was replaced with a SAT ( for subscribers of satellite radio like sirius ) which is kewl if you use that option. And the button for turning off the Traction Cntrl is absent, there should be a button on the bottom bezel in front of the shifter for Rear Defrost/"Traction Cntrl"/Fog Lights Button...And this one is missing the center button to turn off the traction cntrl. Its just a solid dummy button. Otherwise its a great car and no complaints! Posted by: badass98svt I bet you can just pop the TC switch in there. I'm willing to bet the harness is behind the shifter console. As for the 6 disc player, get an aftermarket headunit. The OEM 6 disc units jam constantly! Posted by: KrazyPony I have a JVC 12 DISC Changer to go in the trunk, so once thats hooked up that wont be a issue Posted by: bullitt5177 That would mean yours is not equipped with TC. Try it out. Posted by: badass98svt Scotty, the harness is probably behind the console, right? Posted by: bullitt5177 Most likely. I can't say for sure, but I know Ford is lazy/cheap and tries to make one harness work for almost everything. Posted by: Mustang5L5 Quote:
For 2004 GT's ABS and traction control is a package deal and an $850 option. Since you don't have the trac button, that also means you don't have ABS. SO take it easy in rain or slick situations. To add T/C, you'd have to retrofit the entire ABS system in. You can't just pop the button in because you also need the wheel speed sensors and the actual ABS modulator pump to work the rear brakes. ABS and T/C used to be standard on 01-03GT's but Ford decided to make it an option for 2004 (and not reduce the window sticker) to offset a small bump in price. A LOT of 2004 GT's don't have ABS/TC. I beleive the only Mustangs with standard ABS in 2004 were the Cobra, MAch 1 and GT's equipped with the 40th anniversary package Posted by: badass98svt ^^^ Very interesting Posted by: Mustang5L5 I only know this because in 2004 when i was looking to buy a brand new GT i took note that pretty much every GT on the lot didn't have ABS or T/C. The only ones i could find with ABS were fully loaded GT's with Auto transmissions I'm a firm beleiver in ABS (even in performance driving) and if you've autocrossed you would agree with me. Since i insisted on a GT with ABS, the dealer pretty much said I would need to order it. So i bought a slightly used '03 that came standard with ABS instead Posted by: TorchRedSVT huh no shit, i never knew that. Such a wealth of knowledge you are mike. Posted by: KrazyPony Wow that weird, but as you said Automatic AOD, with the full 40th Anniversary pkg should have it equipped...which mine is. So not sure how that plays out with my case, what would fully consider the car fully equipped if mine doesnt fall into that category? Kinda stupid to not have that as a option to the driver, think it would be a safety concern. But I know I have tried to see when hitting the gas taking a corner would kick on the symbol of the dash for the ABS/TC Icon and it didnt so maybe your onto something here... Quote:

Sorry to say it but your's isn't a 40th anniversay car. It's a regular GT. All V6's, GT's and Mach 1's got the same "40th anniversary" fender badges. This is a true 40th package car. They feature a unique "crimson red" color (as well as white and black) with spoiler delete, 03/04 Cobra painted mirrors, arizone beige stripes on the hood, and unique "arizona beige" spoked bullitt wheels and the IUP interior package. They are kinda rare, only 5000 or so made. ![]() Your's is just a normal GT premium, not a 40th. If you don't have the t/c button then you don't have ABS or T/C. Ad for other options, do you have the Mach 1000? Do you have the bullitt pedals and interior uprade package option (silver bezel trim around the radio) All, you don't have the upgraded chrome '01 Cobra wheels as well, so there are a few options the previous owner didn't get. Not trying to downplay the car down, but i'm just letting you know what you have. Posted by: KrazyPony Know thats fine Mike, It does have IUP Option on it you describe Quote:
Was just curious more than anything, but do appreciate the history... Posted by: bullitt5177 I love the 40th editions.
