Carlisle All-Ford Nationals
Jun 6 - Jun 8, 2008

Thought I would get this thread started and see who is going this year. If your are going,(meaning you have a room reservation at the Days Inn) reply to this and add you name. If you think you are going and don't have a reservation, please call the hotel and book a room, there are only 7 rooms left at the hotel. This is a great event! Hoping more people attend this, this year!

I'm going..., who else is?
Jim G

(if you read this and called the hotel to book, add your name please!)

Thanks!

Jim, You know me, been going all 13 straight years. Haven't missed one yet. Every year has been a blast. As said above Todd will be my co-pilot. Always a good take.
What we've done for several years. For those interested in driving done together. We all meet @ the Carton rest area on Mass Pike @ approx 7 am on THURSDAY morning. It's a pottie break as well as grabbing food & drink. We exchange cell numbers so we can all keep track in case someone has an issue. Those of us pulling a trailer will be slower. We cruz on down stop only for fuel & food. Get there between 5-6pm @ hotel. What most of us then do is head right over to show field get signed in. They give you your "goodie bag as well as your class window tag & field entry pass. They close at 7pm so try to get there before. Because, on Friday morning when show starts, it can be VERY busy. But for those who got signed in Thursday night, we can just drive into show field. Also on Thursday there is a place to wash/clean your rides.
One of the coolest things in Carlisle is ... a "drive thru liquor store" (beer).

How long is the ride?
Any idea on how much the Hotel is?

Posted by: 390gtconv

Ride is around 9hrs, depends if you're towing like me. Hotel info, I forget but here's Days Inn #(717)258-4147. Have to ask for "block of rooms" set aside for NHMC group.

Trailers take 9 hrs.... we usually get there in 6-7 hours.
Hotel is about $120.00 per night. $360.00 for the 3 days.

Carlton Rest stop at 7am is breakfast stop.

We usually stop in Wilkes Barre for lunch and gas.

More to follow....

I hope I am not intruding. My wife and I will be there with her 1966 Mustang.

There will also be a few Australian Fords there including possibly an XA and a couple XB Falcons as well as a Landau, which is a funky 1970-ish looking cougar/Aussie Falcon-ish looking thing. You'll love it. There may even be a Mad Max Interceptor there. None of those cars will be mine but people I know.

Not intruding at all!!! Sounds like a good showing from your area! This will be my first show and look forward to meeting everyone in the forum from other parts!!! I'll keep my eye out for your car!!
Talk ya

Steve, that's cool. I wish I was going. I'd love to see the Aussie Fords and meet you.

Steve,

Nice of you to drop in! I am going to Carlisle and will definately be looking out for you. I will be in a Torch Red 03 MACH 1, hanging out on the show field with the MACH 1 Registry Tent. Are you bringing an Aussie Ford too?!
Hope to see you there.

Gilmar

Posted by: Aussie XAXB

I suspect it will be the red Mach in your sig.

BTW, we will be with the purple 1966 Mustang you see in my sig below.

Nope, mine is still in pieces. It will be ready to get media blasted soon. It'll be a couple years before it's done. We've got a daughter in college. I'm going to nickel and dime my way through it as best I can.

I'll be meeting some guys around the Aussie car area. One from New York and one from PA I already met there once. Another coming from Florida I know but have never met. They're all great guys. There will be another or two that I don't know, yet.

It'll be nice to meet people from here too. You guys, and gals, have a great club.

Steve

Posted by: gilmar4

As you all know, we will be meeting in the same location as last year. I am starting to put together the Club list of members going with contact info, etc.
If you are going and want to ride with the caravan, please PM me your name and mobile number. I will put you on the list to be given to everyone going down. It makes it alot easier when traveling.

More to come...
JG

I just got word that my daughter's Graduation ceremony is scheduled for June 6th at 6:30PM.

I might blast down, solo (Actually with a buddy of mine/Riding shot gun) right to "PA" immediately after the ceremony, or I may not go?!?!

I'll determine shortly....and keep you posted

Posted by: awwyea

I'm looking for a room. The Days Inn is booked, as are all of the other places within a 10 mile radius.

Saw this last night. Close to 90 and chances of t-storms all weekend. I could go a little cooler, maybe around 80, but still great weather!!
Anyone have any suggestions for food to bring down for snacks?

Posted by: 390gtconv

I'd say plan it like you're going to a friends house party. Bring what you want to drink (some can be had there too) Food, chips peanuts, dips, prezels. Some make cookies & brownies. Whatever you think will be a hit. I also pack snack bars (things like that) for eating on the field. They sell plenty of food on the field but I like to bring some. Some of us will bring juice soda for ride down and beer for when we get there. We've been known to hold a party @ night right in the hotel parking lot as well. Even better if it's hot, oh and bring your swim suit if you wish to swim as hotel has a decent pool. That feels great after baking in hot sun all day, trust me.

Saturday and Sunday changed to Scattered Thunderstorms. Looks like typical All Ford Nationals weather. If it didn't rain it would be the All Mopar Nationals.

Of course the weather can change again, there's still plenty of time.

Hey Jim,
assuming you are going down 495 thursday. What time you figure you'd be going thru westford /littleton area?

Posted by: gilmar4

Sent you a PM

Posted by: hurtin_monky

Hey Jim,
just called, got a machine, I 'll try again in a few

Posted by: 390gtconv

FINALLY my car is back running tonite after having rocker shaft failure and then doing an update and replacing ALL the rocker assoc hardware. Boy this was too close to Carlisle. I'm gonna really like the first beer when I get there, heck I might not even taste that one. LOL

As far as going down 495 time, I'll be going thru around 6, 6:15am. Jim I'd guess about the same, JIM?? Then again Jim's so excited he may go thru @ 4am!!!!

Posted by: chachee52

Can we head back down today? I haven't even started work yet. Just came in early to get a couple errands done and it's already been "one of those days"!!!!!
I liked it better down there!!! Need another vacation and FAST!!!!!
Just liked to thank everyone down there for a great time. It was my first time down and had a blast hitch hiking from car to car. Might have to look into a 2001-2004 for Jen, and I'll just have to drive it.
thanks again to all!!
Todd
