Time to bring it this year....

....88mm turbo on it's way. As you many of you know, with the drop in oil pressure I experienced last time at the track from having the tranny push up into and destroy the thrust bearings, I suffered some damage to my T76. Seems like minor impeller damage, but Turbonetics still wants a boatload to fix it. Putting it on Ebay as is and moving up. Makes no sense to fix a 4 yr old turbo considering how efficient the new ball bearing turbos are. What does all this mean? Can you say "let's break the 1000 rwhp mark?"

Woah, that's awesome!!!!

so i guess the million dollar question is whose doing the work on the car?

with that said do you think you will continue to expierence the transmission woes that have seem to plague you the last couple of seasons? I am assuming that situation has been addressed if you are jumping up to the bigger turbo

Wow...so what i wasn't expected...but in a good way.

I wanna see a 9 second slip at this years "True Street" (even though i do kinda sorta know the person who won it last year)

Turbos are retarded, but anyway who is working on the car?

Posted by: lxfiveo

The motor is already done.....being dropped back in with the tranny this week. Just waiting on the turbo now and for Harland to replace one of the rocker arms that broke (1/2 my engine was running off a set of Jesels that Eric let me borrow).

Mike - I plan on destroying TS this year. But hey, it's all talk until I actually show up with a running car.

And Ian - a ball bearing turbo, along with the increased size, means the whole setup needs to work a lot less harder to make the same HP or more. Since spooling up a turbo puts tremendous pressure on the tranny, the faster it can get there, the easier it will be on the Lentech. A bigger turbo will also tax the intercooler less. It just made a ton of sense to step up to a bigger one.

How big was your other turbo?

Got an ebay link? Not that i want it but curious to see what it will go for

Holy Shiite.. Steve

Gonna be a good summer.. except for the $5.00 a gal gas in the near future

Congrats on the upgrade, and seeing it up and running sooner rather than later is gonna rock!!

Can't Wait

that definitly makes sense...i am very happy for you man you gotta be psyched. I can't wait to see the beast in action.

do you plan on driving the car on cruises and such or will be limited to track duty. I know it was designed as a street car but just curious to see what your plans are

either way man , its gonna be a good summer!!!!

I plan on cruising it first and foremost this year....just enjoy it. But you will definitely see me run it at the track on occasion as well
