Pep Boys & Mcrparts Cruise Nights Start May 6th

Starting Tuesday May 6th the MCRPARTS/PEP BOYS cruise nights will begin at 60 -Dusk

PEP BOYS is located on RT 28 in Salem NH directly next to IHOP.

Hope to get a great turn out for opening night.

I am usually passing by Pep Boys right about that time on my ride home every night.. I will be sure to spin in on Tuesdays even if its only for a few minutes..

John,

You can bring whom ever you like, they are welcome too! I just don't want to sit at a crusie night with more imports than American Muscle. I am just concerned with the imports that spend more money on audio than anything else.

Yup me too.

My friend with the 350Z is on his way there. He got a touch screen in dash the first week he had it and now he wants subwoofers. He has the typical high schooler mind set (subs louder than the music = sweet). Too bad we aren't in high school anymore.

My friend with the S2000 is all about the performance aspect of cars. He isn't into Amerian Muscle, but he dislikes the same imports we do.

I don't mind imports -- we get a few at the NHMC cruise too and they're usually pretty respectful of the domestics, and knowledgeable too -- but if they've got Ricer attitudes, that's just annoying.

They way I see it, if you show up with a nice import -- not Mom's Camry with a wing and fart can -- and don't talk smack about domestics, I'll treat you with respect too. But start telling me that your plain old no-nitrous/no-blower Civic pulls 13s, and we're gonna have a laugh fest.

Remember, most of us started with some embarrassingly wimpy car that we thought was better than it was.

There is actually a no nitrous/no blower civic here in my town that runs 13's. He has a B20 block (Honda CRV) with a B16 head (99-00 Civic SI) and the obvious other stuff done. He doesn't make a ton of power but he pulled mid 13's out of it.

Too bad it is a Civic though. If it were a higher end import than that would be cool

Last year I went to a car show at Pinkerton Academy. A bunch of imports from Lawrence showed up, I think it was a club, and they all had the music cranking and not one of them had the same thing playing. It even drowned out the music that was being played at the show.

But that's what I mean -- obviously that guy KNOWS what he doing. That's not "ricer", that's "tuner".

Yup. A lot of people group tuners and ricers into one big group and call them ricers though. Like you pointed out, there is a difference.

He was telling me a turbo and sc are the exact same thing. I was like uh.....no dude.

You should see his p.o.s. car. It's a 1980 twincam Toyota.

2 different color flip up headlights (neither one is Silver, the color of the car)
A "Nascar style" rear view mirror mounted to a 2x4. When you look at the car the first thing you see is the 2x4,you can easily see it right through the windshield.

He was saying he has a hard time getting traction. I told him maybe he needs wider tires. He told me they are already real wide. He didn't know what size they were though. But, he tells me they are 55 series, so they're "real wide"
I looked at his tires and they are 195/55 14

What a tool.

Hahaha, classic PJ. I've worked with quite a few ricers in my day. As long as I don't talk cars with them though, they're sometimes decent people.

Mark and I had a friendly gentlemen's match on the highway after we left. And all I can say in terms of the outcome is I need a port job or weight reduction ASAP.

What a great night!! It was good to see everyone with their cars.
Nothing is better in the world than taking a cruise on a nice night, hanging out with a bunch of Mustangs for a few hours, then going home to watch a Red Sox win...., and ice cream! What a GREAT DAY!

Now I know why I am friends with all of you guys...you are great for a guys EGO

ps of course there is a price to pay for being nuclear...I have my driver side valve cover off to re-adjust my rockers-got much louder after the thrash run last night.

Guys, Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that showed up for the first show.

I think this is a great place and it'll catch on fast. Our cruise night will be there every Tuesday at 60 to dusk.

Also (and I did it too) Please no burn outs leaving the show.Corperate has allowed us to hold the cruise night there,and there's a guy across the road that calls the city everytime Pep Boys puts a sign near the road.

So we want to keep the cruise night at this location, and not have to move it.The worst thing about it is that the damn guy that calls owns a frickin sweet 50 Ford.

So from here on it keep it cool (including me ) and this things gonna turn out awesome.

I didn't see that Pj, when did that happen ? I'll figure something out to get it under control.

I'll buy some cones or something for starters,and we'll iron out the wrinkles and tweak it out as we go.

When I first go there some guy in a turbo diesel lit em up ...banana head.

Update: Just talked to Paul (manager at Pep Boys) I'm going to buy some cones to block off the back enterance so there's only one way into that corner lot.

It'll also keep people from flying through the show section,and anyone possibly getting hit.

I'll get it secured for everyone

I saw the almost t-bone of the silver/gray+black gt 500 and a minivan.. d--m close. The meatball in the turbo diesel truck... almsot ran over the sign in the middle of 28, he hit the curb at stateline paysaver, lol
I can't say much else my car wasn't there... soon I hope!!!!

I saw it, it was the grey GT "Twister". I thought that they only made orange ones. But yup, that was a close call, neither one really looked!!!

Well, Isn't the weather supposed to be rainy? But then again, wasn't today supposed to be rainy? Anyway, If I get out of work early enough I'll shoot up again. The bad thing is I have a 4pm eval that will probably show up late to our Manchester office. If I trusted the neighborhood I'd take the mustang but it's pretty sketchy, so I'd have to come back to Lowell then head up.

It's at the PepBoys parking lot behind IHOP. It is about 3/4 mile into Salem I would say from the Methuen line.

It depends on when my Dad gets home from work. He usually gets home from work by 4:30 so we would probably leave here between 50 and 5:15 if we are going to take the backroads up.

What time did you plan on leaving? I am not totally sure how long it take to get there on those roads. I usually just take 495.

Sorry I haven't been making it lately. Tuesday nights is one of the few nights I have to do a little work around the houses. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks this will die down, but I'll still have to up keep 2 yards for a while. Contractor was tearing up the kitchen floor in the new house today.
