Thanks. Vacation will definitely be fun haha but going without the Mach for two weeks will feel like a winter again.

on a side note do you know how to do HDR? I have always wanted to do some of those but I have no clue how to do them.

I don't know how to do HDR. I have just started with digital SLR's since christmas so I am still learning the camera that I got.

HDR = High Dynamic Range.....used to help pictures look the way a human eye would see vs the way a camera does....VERY cool shit.

HDR pics are hit or miss for me, most of them look fake or like they belong in a video game or something. That Ford GT on the first page looks very good though.

exactly, like that sn95 on the bottom of the 1st page. The pic looks pretty cool but doesnt look real at all.

I am fooling around with HDR now. As long as your camera can shoot in RAW then you can try it out.

An uncompressed file format. Most point and shoot cameras shoot in jpeg which compresses the images data to make the file smaller. This also degrades image quality. RAW has a lot more information for the programs and camera to work with.

Interesting. Although I can't say I'm a fan of the look. Maybe the samples on that thread are "overdone", but the only ones that didn't look cartoony were the pics of the Black Cobra in the 2nd post.
I understand and can appreciate the "artistic" look of the planes in the 1st post, but the pic of the Ford GT, for example, looked like something out of a past-generation video game.

Cool process though. I'd like to see some more realistic ones....
